Dahl (ribs) resumed dry swinging Friday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl's return was doing some swinging drills in late April, but he wasn't able to complete them at 100 percent, so he laid off for a bit of time. Now that he's back on track, he should be able to begin hitting relatively soon, although a firmer timetable for his return should come forth as he ramps up his activity further.

Dahl (ribs) is still not able to show 100 percent exertion on his swing, according to manager Bud Black, MLB Network Radio reports. "He's still a ways away," Black said.
EDGE Analysis
While general manager Jeff Bridich said over the weekend that he was hopeful Dahl could play in games in a week or so, Black's comments suggest that is not likely to happen. Even if he is able to return in mid-to-late May, he is not a lock to get more than a handful of starts per week as long as Mark Reynolds continues to earn starts at first base, which has been pushing Ian Desmond to left field lately.

Rockies GM Jeff Bridich told MLB Network Radio on Sunday that he's hopeful Dahl (ribs) can play in games in a week or a little longer.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl, who has been sidelined since spring training with a stress fracture in his ribs, was able to resume baseball activity last week, which included a batting practice session Friday. The Rockies figure to gradually ramp up the intensity of Dahl's workouts in the days to come, and how he responds will ultimately dictate when the team decides to send him out on a rehab assignment. Due to the extensive time he's already missed, Dahl could require multiple games at multiple levels in the minors before the Rockies activate him from the DL, but with a return at some point in May a good possibility, those who have stashed the 23-year-old this long are best served waiting out his return.

Dahl (ribs) progressed further in his rehab process by taking batting practice Friday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl has been out since the beginning of spring training, but he continues to make steady progress toward his return to action. He'll need to get a good number of innings under his belt prior to a full return to action, so it could still be a couple of weeks before he resumes his role in the Rockies' lineup.

Dahl (ribs) began hitting off a tee Thursday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Following a clean bill of health proven by an MRI, the young outfielder is now able to start rotational baseball activities such as hitting. He's expected to progress to live batting practice in a few days, after which he can embark on a rehab assignment. Barring any extraneous circumstances, Dahl appears to be a couple weeks out from returning to the Rockies, although a firmer timetable should become evident as he progresses further.

Dahl's (ribs) MRI went very well and he will likely begin hitting this weekend at extended spring training, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl had been held out from rotational activity during his recovery, but the clean MRI likely signals a green light for increased activity. The outfielder has been traveling with the team to begin the season, though he'll likely work on getting back to full strength before heading out on a rehab assignment sometime within the next couple weeks.

Dahl (ribs) will undergo another MRI on his ribs Friday, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The young outfielder is currently able to complete running and throwing drills along with a weightlifting regimen, but until MRI results clear him of any issues, he's still not allowed to resume any rotational baseball activities such as swinging a bat. Dahl seems to be feeling good at the moment, although this wait for an MRI likely means that he won't be able to resume his role in the Colorado outfield until the beginning of May.

Dahl (ribs) has progressed to throwing, running and weight training, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The young outfielder is still not cleared to swing a bat until after his next bone scan, but this progress is still promising. It seems like swinging is the last hurdle for Dahl to clear prior to getting into limited game action, so it seems like a rehab assignment could be coming up in the next couple weeks or so. In the meantime, look for Gerardo Parra to continue acting as the Rockies' primary left fielder.

Dahl (ribs) will join the Rockies during their upcoming series with the Giants to be re-evaluated by the team training staff, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The young outfielder is still back in Scottsdale rehabbing the injury, but it seems like he's on the mend of his recovery. Things should become clearer once the trainers have a chance to examine his ribs, but a return in the end of April is still in the realm of possibility.

Dahl (ribs) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Dahl was diagnosed with a rib stress fracture in early March and is expected to miss the first couple weeks of the regular season. Gerardo Parra will man left field in Dahl's absence.
