Swanson collected two more hits on Tuesday, giving him 11 hits in his last 21 at bats for Double-A Mississippi.
EDGE Analysis
Swanson and teammate Ozzie Albies have both been tearing the cover off the ball since they were paired together at Double-A on June 30. Albies has been playing second base while Swanson has been the primary shortstop. These two will most likely be working together in the minors until they get called up to the majors at some point in 2017.

With Ozzie Albies being sent back to Double-A to play second base, it seems safe to assume the Braves view Swanson as their shortstop of the future, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.
EDGE Analysis
It had been up in the air as to whether Swanson or Albies would have to move off shortstop to man the keystone when the two reached the majors together, and now that question seems to be answered. Instead of promoting Swanson to Triple-A, they opted to demote Albies to Double-A to allow the two to work together in the middle of the infield. This suggests neither player is particularly close to reaching the majors this season. That said, they should spend a good chunk of 2017 turning double plays together at the big league level.

Swanson had two hits and scored a run in three at-bats during the Southern League All-Star Game Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Since being promoted to Double-A on April 30, the Braves top prospect has hit only .242 in 44 games with the Mississippi Braves. Swanson looks to need more seasoning in the minors and doesn't seem likely to reach the majors this season, especially with fellow shortstop Ozzie Albies ahead of him at Triple-A Gwinnett.

Swanson, 22, is batting .273/.362/.438 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 30 games since being promoted to Double-A.
EDGE Analysis
Swanson has hit a bit of a snag of late, batting just .239 with 10 strikeouts over his last 10 games. Ozzie Albies also remains ahead of him on the depth chart at Triple-A, though Albies is not exactly scalding the ball right now either. With the Braves headed nowhere this season, there could be no rush to promote Swanson to the big leagues.

Swanson, 22, is batting .310/.444/.517 with one home run, six RBI and two steals through eight games since being promoted to Double-A.
EDGE Analysis
Swanson has had no issues since being promoted from High-A, including tallying more walks (5) than strikeouts (3). Swanson could see the majors before the 2016 season is finished.

Swanson was promoted to Double-A Mississippi on Saturday, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Braves' top two hitting prospects, Swanson and Ozzie Albies, who both play shortstop, were promoted Saturday, with Albies heading to Triple-A. Swanson is a very advanced hitter, and the rare player who could reach the majors the year after he was drafted, however with Albies ahead of him, it will be interesting to see how the Braves handle the two shortstops as they continue to move up the ladder. Albies is the superior defender, so it's possible Swanson could shift to second base when his time comes for a promotion to the big leagues. Swanson hit .333/.438/.520 with one home run and six steals, while walking more than he struck out in 89 plate appearances at High-A, and he now faces the extremely difficult hitting environment at Mississippi.
