In that time Swanson has shown drastic improvement from how he started the season, as he's notched a .320/.437/.433 line over the last 30 games. He'll get the day off while Johan Camargo covers shortstop and hits seventh. The Braves don't play Monday, so look for Swanson to return to the lineup Tuesday against the Nationals.

Swanson went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored and an RBI Sunday against the Cubs.

Swanson's been much better at the plate since being recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett following a midseason demotion and has now reached base multiple times in 12 of his past 17 games. The first overall pick in the 2015 draft still owns a subpar .238/.319/.342 line, but keep in mind he was sitting at .259/.290/.319 on Aug. 18.

Despite his immense struggles at the plate with the big club earlier this season, Swanson is still viewed as an integral part of the Braves' rebuild, so it's no surprise that he'll receive regular at-bats upon rejoining the big club. Swanson will take over the role that had previously fallen to Johan Camargo, who was moved to the disabled list after suffering a bone bruise on his right knee while running onto the field prior to Tuesday's game. The Braves expect Camargo to miss at least two weeks with the injury, so Swanson will have a decent length of time to try and improve upon his dismal .213/.287/.312 slash line.

With Johan Camargo set to go on the DL due to a right knee bone bruise that will likely keep him out for a couple weeks, Swanson heads back to the big-league club prior to Wednesday's game against the Phillies. The 23-year-old is in line for a great deal of playing time until Camargo returns, but has only gone 9-for-38 at the plate during his 11-game stay at the Triple-A level. In 324 at-bats with Atlanta this year, Swanson is hitting just .213/.287/.312 with six home runs and 35 RBI. Moving forward, Swanson will have to make the most out of this opportunity if he's going to earn semi-regular starts throughout the rest of the season once Camargo is ready for action.

Swanson has recently lost his starting role and was beginning to languish on the bench for Atlanta. He also went just 2-for-40 with 15 strikeouts over his last 15 games. The Braves will hope the change of scenery will allow Swanson to find his rhythm again. Expect him back by the time rosters expand in September at the latest. The corresponding roster move will likely be announced Thursday.

Snitker commented that he thinks it's better for Swanson to spend time in the big leagues rather than the minors, but a trip to Gwinnett certainly isn't out of the question if things continue to go south.

There has been nothing to suggest a demotion is imminent, but a brief trip back to the minors at some point is not out of the question.
