Murphy was diagnosed with a mild calf strain after consulting with doctors Tuesday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports. The Mets don't believe a DL stint is in play for Murphy, who could even be available for Wednesday's game if he checks out fine during pregame activities. Wilmer Flores covered second base for Murphy on Tuesday and will likely do so until Murphy is deemed ready to play again.

Murphy (sore right calf) is not in Tuesday's lineup and will see a doctor about the injury, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. Wilmer Flores is starting at second in place of Murphy, who outs his status as 'day-to-day' but did not appear overly concerned about the injury.

Murphy left the Mets' win over the Dodgers on Sunday with a sore right calf in the ninth inning, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. No word on the extent of the injury, but with the Mets having an off-day Monday, it would not be surprising to see Murphy in the lineup Tuesday.

Murphy is out of the lineup Tuesday, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports. This is a rare day off for the Mets' starting second baseman, and it will interrupt a bit of a mini-slump, as he is just 3-for-24 over his last six games. Ruben Tejada will get the start at the keystone.

According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Mets are "highly doubtful to move" Daniel Murphy. There has been interest -- most notably from the Nationals -- but Murphy is under contractual control through the 2015 season and so the Mets would have to be overwhelmed by an offer to pull the trigger on a deal. Murphy, 29, is hitting .295/.341/.423 with eight home runs and 11 stolen bases in 105 games this season.

The Nationals have had internal discussions about Daniel Murphy and Asdrubal Cabrera but no deal appears close, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal. The Nats are in need of an infielder with Ryan Zimmerman out for most of the rest of the regular season, and both Murphy and Cabrera would allow Anthony Rendon to remain at third base while pushing Danny Espinosa back to a bench role. Murphy would be a nice upgrade but would be tough to do within the same division, while Cabrera is a free agent after the season.
