Craig Gentry has been scratched from Tuesday's Cactus League game with a stomach illness. It's not anything to worry about. Gentry should return to the Rangers' lineup later this week.

Craig Gentry stole his fifth base of spring and scored to runs in the Rangers 5-2 win over the Padres Saturday. The 29-year-old outfielder has some wheels, as he stole 18 bases in 2011 and 13 in 2012 in limited opportunities. If he earns the bulk of the playing time in center field -- he's currently battling with Leonys Martin for the starting role -- he could be a useful source of stolen bases in 2013.

Craig Gentry (hamstring) could return to game action as soon as Friday. Gentry has been out the last few days with left hamstring tightness. He's competing with Leonys Martin for the center field job.

Craig Gentry provided a huge lift to the Rangers offense on Friday, delivering a pinch-hit, three-run triple in the eighth inning, leading the Rangers to a 4-3 win over the Athletics. He's been losing out on playing time recently with David Murphy and Leonys Martin playing so well, but he still fills a valuable role on the Rangers bench. He's now hitting .356 with 18 RBI and nine stolen bases in just 118 at-bats on the year.

Craig Gentry left Saturday's game prior to the fourth inning with a right ankle sprain. Gentry twisted his right ankle Friday night and maybe shouldn't have been on the field in a position to aggravate it the next day. Either way, expect Gentry to miss a game or two if the injury is minor. If the sprain proves to be severe, he may need a stint on the disabled list.

Craig Gentry singled home the lone run in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks. Gentry got Wade Miley for the game-winning hit in the eighth. The RBI was just Gentry's 15th of the season, though he's now hitting an exceptional .340/.411/.440 in a part-time role. He's a perfectly fine option in deeper AL-only leagues.

Craig Gentry went 5-for-5 with a double and two RBI against the Giants on Friday night. A career game for Gentry, who had never had more than three hits previously. He's now hitting .341 in 88 at-bats for the season, which could earn him more playing time in center if the Rangers choose to slide Josh Hamilton to left field more frequently. That was the plan going into the season.

Down 10-0 in the eighth inning on Monday, Craig Gentry took the mound and proceeded to give up two runs on three hits and a walk in one inning of work. Rangers manager Ron Washington turned to the reserve outfielder to limit the burden on his bullpen. If we see another pitch from Gentry this season, it certainly won't be with the game on the line.
