McHugh (elbow) pitched six innings at Double A on Sunday in what is expected to be his final rehab appearance, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
An elbow issue has kept McHugh on the shelf since the start of the season, but he's made significant progress in recent weeks and is expected to rejoin the Astros in Baltimore over the coming weekend. Given McHugh's impending return, the Astros will need to open up a rotation sport, and Joe Mosgrove -- 6.04 ERA in 14 starts -- would appear to be the most likely candidate for a reassignment or move to the bullpen.

McHugh (elbow) will make his final rehab start Sunday with Double-A Corpus Christi, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh has battled arm trouble since early in spring training, but he's down to one final hurdle on his road back to the big-league roster. He will attempt to build up to six innings and roughly 90 pitches Sunday with an eye toward returning next weekend in Baltimore. Joe Musgrove seems the most likely candidate to lose his rotation spot upon McHugh's activation.

McHugh (elbow) logged 4.1 innings and ran his pitch count up to 74 in his third rehabilitation start at Double-A Corpus Christi on Monday, Len Hayward of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports. The right-hander allowed three unearned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh reported feeling soreness after the outing, which he viewed as a good thing because what he felt wasn't pain. Another good sign was his curveball being as effective as it has been during his three-start stint with the Hooks. He'll huddle up with coaches and trainers to determine the next step, but at least one more rehab start is expected.

McHugh (elbow) will make a third rehabilitation start Monday at Double-A Corpus Christi, Hunter Atkins of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Astros will have McHugh throw at least two more rehab starts before he's activated.

McHugh completed 3.2 innings in his second rehabilitation start for Double-A Corpus Christi, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh, who was scheduled to throw between 45 and 50 pitches, dialed up his pitch count to 53 in his second rehab start. He was perfect through three innings before allowing two runs in the fourth inning and struck out five without issuing a walk. He'll need at least two more rehab starts, maybe more, before he's ready to rejoin the major league team.

McHugh (elbow) will make his second rehab appearance Wednesday for Double-A Corpus Christi, MLB.com's Christian Boutwell reports.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh felt "no pain" after his initial outing, which is exactly what the Astros wanted to hear after his rough return to the mound. The right-hander gave up four earned runs off seven hits and one walk without recording a strikeout, but it isn't shocking that McHugh would be a little rusty after all his time off. He said that everything was perfectly normal and that he will likely throw over 50 pitches Wednesday after tossing 42 during Friday's start.

McHugh (elbow) lasted just one inning and allowed four runs on seven hits, two walks and a hit-by-pitch in his first rehab appearance Friday with Double-A Corpus Christi, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh threw 42 pitches and was replaced before he could get an out in the second inning. More important than his effectiveness is how he feels after throwing so many pitches, but it isn't a good sign that he was getting lit up by Double-A hitters. McHugh hasn't pitched at all this season and will likely take the full 20 days allowed on this rehab assignment, and as such, his return likely won't come until a week or so after the All-Star break.

McHugh (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Corpus Christi on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh will get his first taste of live action since the end of the 2016 season, as he's been sidelined for the entirety of the 2017 campaign with a posterior impingement in his right elbow. The righty will need three-to-four rehab outings before rejoining the Astros' rotation, which puts him on track to be activated from the DL in mid-July following the All-Star break.

McHugh (elbow) should begin a rehabilitation assignment within the next week, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh, who hasn't pitched in the majors this season because of an impingement in his pitching elbow, came out of a simulated game Saturday without incident. The right-hander will begin the assignment with a two-inning start and build up his arm over several outings. It will be spring training all over again.

McHugh (elbow) completed a simulated game with all of his pitches Saturday, and will head to the minors for a rehab start next week, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
McHugh recently threw live batting practice, and appears to be making strides with his injury that has caused him to miss all of the 2017 season thus far. With a rehab assignment on the horizon, McHugh could be back with the club before the All-Star break barring any setbacks.
