Chris Parmelee homered for a second consecutive game in a losing effort against the Royals on Sunday. He finished the afternoon 2-for-4. His solo blast off Luis Mendoza in the second inning gave the Twins an early 2-0 lead, but they were unable to hold on. Parmelee is now hitting .227 with four homers and 10 RBI in 128 at-bats on the season, and should get a long look in the Twins' outfield over the final month of the season.

Chris Parmelee had a nice night in Saturday's loss to the Royals, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. The 24-year-old first baseman and popular preseason sleeper has been a tremendous disappointment this year. He's only up for a brief three-game audition while Justin Morneau is out, but has a chance to improve on his horrifying .206 average and to get back in the good graces of Twins management.

Chris Parmelee hit a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Tigers. Parmelee's fifth-inning blast off of Justin Verlander would prove to be the extent of the Twins scoring in a 5-1 loss. Hitting .194/.278/.320 in a part-time role, Parmelee is about as far off the fantasy radar as one can get.

Twins optioned 1B Chris Parmelee to Triple-A Rochester. He was cleared to make room for Justin Morneau's return from the disabled list. Parmelee was given a shot at the starting first base job following a hot September last year, but he has disappointed to the tune of a .179/.250/.262 batting line to go along with zero homers over 92 plate appearances.

Chris Parmelee is back in the Twins' lineup Monday for the first time since being hit in the helmet with a pitch last Wednesday. Parmelee suffered a black eye as a result of the pitch, but the good news is that he didn't show any concussion symptoms. He will start at first Monday and bat eighth against Angels' left-hander C.J. Wilson.
