Paddack (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack has been cleared for mound work almost 11 months after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He told reporters after Tuesday's side session that he wants to be pitching in either a bullpen or rotation role for the Twins by early-to-mid September.

Paddack was placed on the 60-day injured list by the Twins on Thursday as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team needed to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for the Donovan Solano signing. Paddack is about nine months removed from what was his second Tommy John surgery and just recently began a throwing program. He's hoping to make it back sometime late this season.

Paddack (elbow) said Wednesday that he began a throwing program last week and has progressed to throwing off flat ground from 60 feet, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack may be able to get back on the mound and/or face hitters by the end of spring training, but he acknowledged that he likely won't be ready to make his 2023 debut until August or September while he recovers from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last May. Because it was the second Tommy John surgery of his career, Paddack may face an uphill battle to return anywhere close to the level of success he enjoyed as a rookie with the Padres in 2019. Given that they signed Paddack to a three-year, $12.53 million contract extension in January, the Twins must at least be encouraged by how he's responded thus far from surgery.

Paddack (elbow) signed a three-year extension with the Twins on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack, 27, made five starts with the Twins with a 4.03 ERA before undergoing Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in May. The right-handed hurler is expected to miss the majority -- if not all -- of the 2023 season while recovering from the operation, and will then have a good chance to help the Minnesota rotation in the 2024-2025 campaigns.

Paddack (elbow) and the Twins agreed on a one-year, $2.4 million contract Friday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander underwent the second Tommy John surgery of his career in May and isn't expected to be available for at least the first half of the 2023 campaign. Prior to injuring his elbow, Paddack produced a 4.03 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 20 punchouts over 22.1 innings in five starts with Minnesota.

Paddack (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery Wednesday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old was already facing an extended absence after being placed on the 60-day injured list with elbow inflammation last week, and he's now undergone Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career. Paddack will miss the rest of the season and will also be sidelined for at least the first half of the 2023 campaign.

Paddack (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the Twins haven't yet revealed whether Paddack will require elbow surgery, he'll be unable to return to game action until at least mid-July. The right-hander posted a 4.03 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 22.1 innings over his first five starts with the Twins but will be forced to miss significant time. Chris Archer and Josh Winder have been filling in as starters recently as the Twins' starting pitchers deal with several injuries.

Paddack (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The move was an expected one after it was announced earlier in the day that Paddack was seeking a second opinion on his elbow and could require surgery. The decision on his treatment plan has not yet been made, but he'll miss at least one turn in the rotation and likely several more. Jharel Cotton was recalled to take his place on the roster.

Paddack is getting a second opinion on his inflamed right elbow, with surgery potentially on the table, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack has been a serviceable starter for the Twins this season, posting a 4.03 ERA through five starts and a 1.69 FIP that suggested things could be about to get much better. Unfortunately, it looks like things might instead get much worse. He's yet to be placed on the injured list or even officially ruled out for his next start, but the fact that surgery is being considered suggests that a long absence could be coming. If Tommy John surgery winds up being the required procedure, Paddack would miss all of this season as well as the majority of the next, though even a lesser elbow surgery could still wipe out a large portion of this season.

Paddack's early exit from his start in Sunday's game against the Athletics was due to right elbow inflammation, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paddack recorded four strikeouts and was charged with three runs on five hits and no walks before he departed with one out in the third inning. The diagnosis of inflammation rather than tightness or a strain bodes well for Paddack's chances of avoiding an extended absence, though the injury could still be significant enough to force him to the IL. The Twins should have a better idea regarding the severity of his elbow issue after evaluating him in the next day or two.
