Devenski (2-1) struck out two in 1.2 perfect innings of relief in Monday's 6-2 victory over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Devenski bounced right back after losing and allowing two runs on a home run in his last outing. In 18.1 innings so far this year, Devenski is dominating with 34 strikeouts against just two walks (16.69 K/9), although he has allowed three long balls. Even though he's not in a closing role, the right-hander is fantasy-relevant because of his impeccable control and nasty swing-and-miss stuff.

Devenski (1-1) allowed two runs on one hit and one walk while striking out five over 2.1 innings in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Devenski was as dominant as ever, but showed he's human after all as he tired toward the end of his 44-pitch outing. He worked around an error to get into a third inning of work, but walked nine-hole hitter Yan Gomes before watching Francisco Lindor take him deep -- 456-feet deep -- for a two-run homer run that ended Devenski's night. Having thrown 51 pitches over the last two days, Devenski is probably unavailable until Sunday.

Devenski earned his first save of the season, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four over 2.1 innings in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Devenski continued his impression of a fireman reliever straight out of the 70s. This was the fourth time in five appearances that he's pitched at least two innings. He stranded both inherited runners and then stranded a couple of his own in the ninth inning. The right-hander has struck out 25 over 13.1 innings to give him an unsustainable 16.88 K/9 ratio.

Devenski pitched two perfect innings and struck out four batters in Houston's 3-0 win over the Angels on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Devesnki struck out the side in the sixth and then punctuated his night by striking out Mike Trout on three pitches to end the seventh. The right-hander, who's been dubbed "The Dragon," has been sublime to start the 2017 season. He's struck out 21 over 11 innings spanning four outings. He's a unique weapon to be deployed at anytime in a game and typically used for more than three outs.

Devenski (1-0) allowed one run on three hits and didn't walk a batter while striking out seven over four innings in Sunday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Devenski is proving to be a valuable and slightly unorthodox weapon for manager A.J. Hinch. The right-hander has made two appearances this season, both coming in extra-inning games in which he pitched four innings and struck out seven. Throwing multiple innings isn't new to Devenski, who averaged nearly two innings per relief appearance in 2016 and tossed three innings in 10 of them.

Devenski pitched four no-hit innings of relief Wednesday, striking out seven and walking one in Houston's 5-3 walk-off win over Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Before George Springer received his warm reception at home plate following a 13th-inning walk-off home run, it was Devenski who made such a celebration possible. He used his changeup to flummox righties and lefties in his debut this season. The Astros had stretched him out during spring training, but he'd never thrown more than two innings in any spring outing. Devenski will be used in 2017 much like he was last season when he finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting. The 26-year-old should get the call in those prickly situations -- opponents threatening, men on base, tough hitter at the plate -- during the middle innings.

Devenski, who was stretched out as a starter earlier this spring and made two Grapefruit League starts, has made three consecutive appearances out of the bullpen, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing seven combined runs over two starts early in camp, Devenski has logged seven scoreless innings as a reliever. The 26-year-old right-hander says he's fine with the relief role; he certainly was in 2016 when posted a 1.61 ERA over 83.2 innings out of the pen. The Astros are keeping his pitch count up in the forties as insurance, but the rotation is for the most part healthy.

Devenski could be used in a hybrid relief role, pitching multiple innings anywhere from the fourth inning on, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ever since last season's playoffs when Indians manager Terry Francona used reliever Andrew Miller in high-leverage situations regardless of the inning, some teams are considering adopting a similar strategy and Houston manager A.J. Hinch thinks Devenski is built for this role. The right-hander was tied for the major league lead with 20 relief appearances of at least two innings last year and led the league with 10 relief outings of three innings, going 2-0 with a 1.01 ERA and a save in those outings. The Astros have stretched out Devenski as a starter this spring, but it looks like his greatest value to the team is in a multi-inning relief role.

Devenski allowed three runs on four hits and struck out four over three innings in Monday's game against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The final numbers aren't pretty, but Devenski started off well, coasting through his first two innings before running into trouble in the third. The Astros are stretching him out as a starter but with seven runs and two home runs allowed in 4.1 innings, manager A.J. Hinch may want to move him back to the pen.

Devenski allowed four runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one over 1.1 innings in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Devenski, who was Houston's Pitcher of the Year as a reliever in 2016, is being stretched as a starter during camp. Even though Devenski was touched for four runs, the Astros will continue to run him out there to see if can make the transition. The 26-year-old right-hander faces the challenge all relievers encounter when transitioning to starter -- he'll need to maintain velocity and command more pitches than just his fastball and changeup. If there isn't a need for him in the starting rotation, Devenski will go back to the pen, where he established himself as an important bullpen piece that can pitch multiple innings.
