Devenski (0-2) lasted just two innings Sunday, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one, but was able to escape with a no-decision in a 10-9 loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
His ERA nearly doubled as a result of his first poor outing of the season, soaring from 1.72 to a still-respectable 3.24. Since joining the rotation though, Devenski has a 5.03 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB in 19.2 innings, and with Lance McCullers now healthy, Devenski is probably on a very short leash. On the bright side, Mike Fiers wasn't much better in relief Sunday, so the fifth starter spot might still be up for grabs.

Devenski gave up two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over 6.2 innings in a loss to the Indians on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
It was Devenski's second straight quality start, but he was hung with the loss to fall to 0-2, as the Astros' hitters failed to do anything against opposing starter Trevor Bauer. Devenski has been great for the Astros both as a starter and as a reliever this season, allowing six runs while posting a 27:7 K:BB over 31.1 innings. The team has not yet said who will move to the bullpen upon Lance McCullers' return, but it could very well be Devenski, at least for now.

Devenski didn't receive a decision Thursday despite holding the Mariners to just one run on six hits and a walk while striking out six over six sparkling innings.
EDGE Analysis
Yeah, that's a lot of sixes. After opening the year as Houston's long man, Devenski has transitioned into the rotation and looked good doing it -- including leaving this one in line for a victory before the bullpen blew it. The 25-year-old rookie has leaped nearly directly to the majors from Double-A (he was with Triple-A Fresno to start the year, but didn't make an appearance before being promoted), and the early returns have been promising. That said, his track record in the minors is rife with inconsistency and he may not get to hold his rotation spot for long, so don't let your expectations get too high.

Devenski will make another start Thursday at home against Seattle, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After holding his own against Oakland on Saturday in his first big league start, Devenski was named the starter for the matchup with the Mariners on Thursday. If he pitches well, it's reasonable to think that Devenski could stick in the rotation for at least one more turn next week as Lance McCullers is scheduled for a rehab start Saturday at Triple-A Fresno, and he won't be available to the Astros until May 12 at the earliest.

Devenski (0-1) gave up five hits, two earned runs and three walks over five innings in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the A's.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old rookie continued to acquit himself well, carrying over much of the effectiveness tha he's displayed in relief over to a spot start on Saturday. Although he had flashed some control problems for the first time this season by issuing three free passes, Devenski still managed to throw a relatively efficient 91 pitches over his time on the mound. He induced ten swinging strikes as well, and was encouragingly able to avoid the long ball altogether. While he may be returning to the bullpen for the time being, Devenski's performance certainly gives a glimpse at his starting potential down the road.

Devenski will start Saturday against the A's, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Scott Feldman will be available out of the bullpen. Devenski kept the Astros in Sunday's game after Feldman dug an early hole, allowing two hits and no walks while fanning two batters over 3.1 scoreless innings against the Red Sox. The 25-year-old right-hander has posted a 12:1 in 13.2 innings to begin his major league career, with his lone blemish coming on a Mitch Moreland homer last week. Devenski threw 41 pitches during Sunday's appearance, so five innings may be his max Saturday.

Devenski pitched 3.1 scoreless innings of relief against Boston on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Devenski entered the game in the fifth inning in relief of struggling starter Scott Feldman and breezed through 3.1 innings, striking out two. The 25-year-old right-hander sports a 0.66 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 12:1 K:BB ratio over his first 13.2 big league innings.
