Chien-Ming Wang's (shoulder) scheduled Wednesday rehab start was postponed due to rain.
Wang threw a side session instead and probably won't appear in a live game until later in the week. The veteran right-hander has looked impressive through his first handful of rehab starts and could climb his way to the Nationals by late July or early August.

Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder) hit 91 mph on the radar gun during his rehab start for Single-A Potomac Saturday and said he "almost" feels as he did in 2008 before his shoulder issues.
Good to hear. He's given up two runs over seven innings during his two rehab starts, but the results matter little compared to how he feels. The Nationals will undoubtedly proceed extra cautiously with Wang, but it sounds like he's finally making real progress.

Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder) allowed one hit over four innings Saturday for Single-A Potomac.
Wang hasn't thrown a pitch in the majors since the middle of the 2009 season, when he was with the Yankees. The 31-year-old sinker-baller got five groundball outs, two strikeouts and one flyout. He's likely to make a stop at every level before getting called up to Washington.

Chien-Ming Wang's (shoulder) next rehab start will come Saturday at Single-A Hagerstown.
Although Nats GM Mike Rizzo thought Wang was only "OK" in his first rehab outing, he did reveal that the right-hander touched 90 mph, which is a good sign. Wang will almost surely use the full 30 days of his rehab assignment and is certainly no safe bet to join the rotation when he's ready.

Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder) allowed two runs on four hits over three innings Monday in his first minor league rehab start with Class A Hagerstown.
Not only was it his first rehab appearance, it was his first professional start period since July 4, 2009. No word on his velocity during the outing, but Wang struck out three, walked none and hit a batter. Perhaps the most encouraging news is that he recorded six ground ball outs. The Nats have waited a long time for the 31-year-old right-hander following shoulder surgery, so today was a step in the right direction.

Chien-Ming Wang (shoulder) is scheduled to make his first minor league rehab start Monday with Class A Hagerstown.
It's finally happening. Barring any last-minute setbacks, this will be Wang's first professional start of any kind since July 4, 2009 with the Yankees. He's still a long way from pitching in the major leagues again, but it will be interesting to see how he fares.
