Chase Utley hit his second homer Wednesday in the victory over the Mets. Chris Young was shutting the Phillies out until Utley and Carlos Ruiz went back-to-back in the seventh inning. Utley's was a two-run shot, which tied the game. The Phillies never let up after that, going on to win 9-2. Utley is 6-for-22 in six games since coming off the DL last week.

Chase Utley is not in the Phillies' lineup Sunday. Utley has now sat out two of five games since returning from the disabled list, and he'll probably continue to receive a similar rate of days off as he eases back into things. Mike Fontenot is starting at second base against Ricky Nolasco and the Marlins.

Chase Utley will sit out of Thursday's game. It's merely a precautionary move. Utley went 3-for-5 with a home run Wednesday in his first game of the 2012 regular season. He'll be back in action on Friday night.

Phillies activated 2B Chase Utley from the 15-day disabled list. He's back. Utley batted just .189 (7-for-37) with two homers during his rehab assignment, but the important part is that his knee is feeling good. While we're not expecting him to be the same player he once was, the 33-yer-old should be a massive improvement from what the Phillies have produced at second base (.246 batting average, .652 OPS) this year. Michael Martinez was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding roster move.

According to Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com, the Phillies are hoping to activate Chase Utley on Wednesday. Utley played eight innings at second base for Single-A Clearwater on Saturday night, reporting no issues with his knee. He will now head to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, where he'll play his first full game. If that goes well, the Phillies' medical team could clear him for activation. The veteran second baseman has been out all season.

Chase Utley (knee) is scheduled to start at second base Saturday for High-A Clearwater. It's the first time he's played consecutive days on defense, which is obviously notable progress. His 20-day rehab window comes to a close in early July, but he now appears to be ahead of schedule. Utley is 5-for-23 (.217) since embarking on his minor league rehab assignment.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Thursday that Chase Utley (knee) could come off the disabled list next week if all continues to go well with his rehab assignment. Good news. Utley is 5-for-23 (.217) with High-A Clearwater during his rehab assignment and has begun playing second base in recent days. His 20-day rehab window comes to a close in early July, but he appears to be ahead of schedule at the moment.

Chase Utley (knee) went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI Monday in a rehab game with High-A Clearwater. Utley played six innings at second base and was pretty active, catching a popup, fielding a grounder and starting a double play. He also caught three throws from the catcher. The 33-year-old is hitting just .118 (2-for-17) during his rehab stint, but the good news is that he hasn't reported any issues with his chronic knee condition. Barring any setbacks, he should return the Phillies in early July.

Chase Utley (knee) played four innings at second base Friday in an intrasquad game. It was previously reported that Utley played just one inning, but he actually got quite a bit more work in. It's not clear when he'll play the field in an actual minor league rehab game, but he's obviously making progress.
