Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro, Jr. indicated Friday that Chase Utley will likely stay at second base. Utley has worked out at third base recently, but Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Friday that he's unlikely to play there in a game before the end of the season. And based on what Amaro said, it may not happen in 2013, either. "After further review, it probably makes the most sense to keep Chase at second base and go from there," said Amaro. Barring a change of heart, the Phillies figure to be in the market for a third baseman this winter.

And it could eventually boost Utley's fantasy value.

Chase Utley is not in the Phillies' lineup Sunday. He had played in the previous 30 games, batting .241/.383/.500 over that stretch. Utley's range at second base isn't nearly what it was, but he's managed to stay healthy and provide pretty nice production at the dish.

Chase Utley went 1-for-3, including a solo homer in Friday's loss to the Diamondbacks. Utley has performed fairly well since returning from the disabled list on June 27, hitting .255 (25-for-98) with six homers, 15 RBI and three stolen bases. At 33-years-old, he's still in the upper echelon of second baseman in terms of offensive production, and should be a major asset in fantasy leagues down the stretch provided he can stay on the field.

Chase Utley blasted a solo home run off Mike Minor on Saturday, producing the Phillies only run on the evening. Utley finished the evening 1-for-4 with the fourth inning solo shot off Mike Minor. Since returning from the DL on June 27, Utley is now hitting .247 (20-for-81) with five homers and 14 RBI.

Chase Utley went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI on Saturday in Colorado, leading the Phillies to an 8-5 win over the Rockies. Utley got the Phillies on the board with an RBI single in the first inning, then capped off the scoring with another RBI knock in the ninth. Since his activation from the DL on June 27, Utley is hitting .262 (11-for-42) with a pair of homers and six RBI. The Phillies should have a run in them.

Chase Utley is not in the Phillies' lineup Thursday. The Phillies have stuck to a plan of playing Utley two of every three games as he eases his way back into the lineup. Assuming his knee is OK, he should play more during the second half.
