Utley went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Astros. Utley broke the game open with a three-run home run � his 10th of the year � in the fourth inning to give the Phillies' an 8-2 lead. The two-hit game was especially good to see considering Utley entered the game mired in a 2-for-27 skid. Entering June 1, Utley was hitting .320, but since then he's batting just .245 in 220 at-bats.

Utley was placed on revocable waivers by the Phillies on Monday, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.

Chase Utley blasted a grand slam into the upper deck in right field at Citi Field on Tuesday. It was his only hit in four plate appearances as the Phillies went on to an easy victory. Utley took reliever Josh Edgin out to right field to break the game wide open at 6-0 in the seventh. It's the fifth grand slam of the veteran second baseman's career, and his first since 2010. The 35-year-old is having another productive year, slashing .291/.353/.439 with nine home runs and 54 RBI.

Chase Utley is out of the Phillies' lineup on Monday. It's just a routine day of rest for the veteran second baseman. Reid Brignac will get the nod in his place Monday in the Phillies' series-opener against the Mets.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that the Blue Jays and Giants are "taking their best shot" at trading for Chase Utley, but the second baseman is unlikely to be dealt. Utley has 10-and-5 trade veto rights and doesn't appear eager to leave Philadelphia even though the Phils appear headed for a rebuilding phase. It's possible that his mind can be changed before the end of the month, but at the moment it doesn't sound like the veteran second baseman is going anywhere.

Utley's slump is approaching the two-month mark, but maybe this is a good sign it's about to come to an end. The homer was his seventh of the year, and it gave him just his second multi-RBI game since May 24.

Chase Utley is not in the Phillies' lineup Sunday. Ryan Howard is also getting a breather. It's the first time since July 15, 2012 that both players are sitting out the same game when they're healthy. Cesar Hernandez is at second base Sunday, while John Mayberry is at first.
