McCormick remains in a near-even timeshare with Jake Meyers in center field, though he also draws occasional starts in left field. He's in the midst of a solid three-game stretch, during which he's gone 5-for-13 with a stolen base, three RBI and two runs scored. He's maintained a .797 OPS with seven homers and eight stolen bases this season, but to this point, he hasn't been able to claim a full-time role -- dinging his fantasy value.

McCormick was in the lineup for the third time in the last four games, though each has come against a lefty. Meanwhile, he's been forced to the bench in each of Houston's last three games against righties, suggesting he's fallen into a short-side platoon role. Even so, McCormick has already swiped a career-high six bases and has maintained a career-best .213 ISO across 138 plate appearances on the season.

McCormick hit the Astros' fourth solo home run of the evening, connecting on a 392-foot blast in the eighth inning. He now has four home runs in 11 games dating back to May 28 but is still slashing just .228/.313/.447 with six homers, 17 RBI, 15 runs and 11:35 BB:K over 129 plate appearances. McCormick could see some additional at-bats with Yordan Alvarez (oblique) on the shelf but is still not seeing consistent opportunities to warrant much fantasy consideration.

EDGE Analysis
McCormick is on the bench for a second straight game after he went 2-for-12 with five strikeouts while starting each of the preceding three contests. Even with Yordan Alvarez (oblique) recently moving to the injured list, McCormick looks as though he could find himself as the odd man out of the lineup more often than not. Kyle Tucker is locked in as the Astros' everyday right fielder, and Jake Meyers, Corey Julks and Mauricio Dubon have seemingly moved ahead of McCormick in the pecking order for playing time at designated hitter and/or the other two outfield spots.

Over his past five games, the outfielder has gone 7-for-19 (.368 average), with three of the hits leaving the park. McCormick missed close to a month earlier in the campaign with a back injury, but he's produced five long balls and four thefts over the 27 games in which he's played, giving him intriguing fantasy value despite a modest .242/.314/.474 slash line.
