Blackmon went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Saturday against the Nationals. He also struck out three times.
EDGE Analysis
The Rockies had trouble getting to Max Scherzer in this one, and outside of the homer, Blackmon was no different. This was his first game since Monday, so the strikeout-heavy performance could be a result of rust at the plate. Regardless, Blackmon now holds a 1.054 OPS on the season. He looks to be a staple around the top portion of the Rockies' lineup, though he could spend the next few days as the three-hitter (rather than leading off) in order to replace Nolan Arenado (suspension).

Blackmon (quadriceps) is back in the lineup for Saturday's game against Washington, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon has missed the past four games while dealing with back and quad tightness but will slot back into the starting nine ahead of Saturday's matinee. Over 10 games thus far in 2018, Blackmon is hitting .282/.391/.641 with four home runs, six RBI and one stolen base.

Blackmon (quadriceps) is again not in the lineup Friday against the Nationals, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon has been out of the lineup for four straight games and five of the last six. He's been battling both back and quad tightness, and while there haven't been any reports that either issue is particularly serious, it wouldn't be surprising to see him end up on the disabled list after missing so many games. Ian Desmond will receive his second straight start in center field, with Ryan McMahon starting at first base.

Blackmon (quadriceps) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon has been battling back and quad tightness throughout the week and will miss his third consecutive game. There have been no reports at this point that the 31-year-old is headed to the disabled list, but it becomes increasingly likely with each day out of the lineup. Ian Desmond will start in center field Thursday, after Mike Tauchman started the previous two games.

Blackmon (quad) is again out of the lineup Wednesday against the Padres, Kyle Newman of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon has dealt with both back tightness and quad tightness in the past few days. He'll now have missed three out of the Rockies' last four games. There haven't yet been any reports that either issue is anything serious or that a trip to the disabled list is imminent, but it's certainly not encouraging to see him sit out this often. Mike Tauchman will receive a second straight start in center field.

Blackmon was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to quad tightness.
EDGE Analysis
The team has yet to indicate if Blackmon is dealing with a serious injury, although it's possible that pulling him from Tuesday's lineup was a precautionary measure as he recently dealt with a bout of back tightness. With Blackmon out, Mike Tauchman will start in center field while DJ LeMahieu moves up to the leadoff spot.

Blackmon (back) will return to the lineup Monday against the Padres, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon was removed from Saturday's contest due to a sore back, but he'll ultimately miss just one game as a result of the injury. He's tabbed to bat leadoff and play center field as usual in his return to action.

Blackmon (back) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Braves, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blackmon will be withheld from the starting lineup after exiting Saturday's game early with apparent back tightness. It doesn't appear that he's dealing with a serious injury and it's likely that the Rockies are simply exercising caution with their prized outfielder. Blackmon will remain a day-to-day case heading into Monday's series opener with the Padres. Mike Tauchman draws the start in center field in his absence.

Blackmon was removed from Saturday's game against the Braves after the ninth inning due to back tightness, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.
EDGE Analysis
It seemed strange that the star center fielder was removed from the game prior to it's conclusion, but nothing suggested that he was dealing with an injury. No word has come forth as to how severe the issue is, so consider Blackmon day-to-day for the time being. If he misses any time due to the injury, Mike Tauchman or Ian Desmond could see some extra starts in the outfield, with the latter option potentially allowing Ryan McMahon to log some time in the starting lineup.

Blackmon agreed to a six-year extension with the Rockies, which includes two player options and could keep him in Colorado through the 2023 season. The terms of the deal were not immediately available.
EDGE Analysis
He would have been a free agent after this season, which would have left his keeper and dynasty league value a little up in the air. However, his owners in long-term formats can now breathe a huge sigh of relief, as he should get to continue to benefit from Coors Field throughout the rest of his prime and into his declining years. Blackmon turns 32 in July, so this contract has the potential to look pretty rough in a few years, especially since there is no designated hitter in the National League. He is off to an excellent start to the season, hitting .316 with four home runs and a 3:3 K:BB in 22 plate appearances, and he hasn't even played a home game yet.
