Kuhl (hip) threw five scoreless innings Saturday for Triple-A Albuquerque, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl has been on the shelf since Aug. 3 with a left hip strain, so his ability to work deep into his first rehab appearance was encouraging. Given that Kuhl stretched out to 86 pitches in the outing, he'll likely be ready to make his next start as a member of Colorado's rotation. He could be activated from the 15-day injured list to start as early as Thursday or Friday against the Mets at Citi Field.

Kuhl (hip) is scheduled to make a rehab start for Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday, the Associated Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since Kuhl has been on the shelf for just under two weeks with the right hip flexor strain, he may need to make only one rehab start to convince the Rockies he's ready to return from the 15-day injured list. If that's the case, Kuhl could step back into the rotation next week as a replacement for Antonio Senzatela, who appears likely to land on the IL after exiting Thursday's 13-0 loss with what looked to be a serious knee injury.

Kuhl (hip) will pitch in a simulated game Friday, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl has been on the injured list for less than a week, and it's encouraging that he's been cleared to face hitters so quickly. The right-hander is eligible to rejoin the Rockies as early as Aug. 19, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him return following a minimal IL stint as long as he feels good following Friday's throwing session.

Kuhl hit the injured list with a right hip flexor strain Friday.
EDGE Analysis
It's possible the injury helps explain Kuhl's struggles over his last four starts, a run in which he owns a 11.49 ERA, 2.49 WHIP and 13:13 K:BB. The transaction was backdated to Thursday, so Kuhl will be eligible to return Aug. 19, though it's unclear if he's expected to do so. Ryan Feltner was recalled to take his place on the roster.

Kuhl (6-6) gave up five earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three over 3.2 innings to take the loss in a 5-4 defeat against the Dodgers on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl was taken out of the yard for a two-run home run in each of the first two innings of the game. The third inning wasn't much better, as Kuhl put the first two runners on with a pair of walks. Freddie Freeman came around to score on a sacrifice fly and Kuhl was given the hook in the fourth after hitting Will Smith and walking Jake Lamb. Control has been a problem for Kuhl all season long, and the 29-year-old right-hander now has a 72:43 K:BB in 19 starts this season. He is tentatively expected to make his next start in San Diego next week.

Kuhl allowed five runs on five hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out four in 2.1 innings in a 10-9 loss Sunday in Milwaukee. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl faced eight batters and yielded three runs in the first inning and two more runs on a Hunter Renfroe homer in the third. Altogether, eight of the 16 batters that Kuhl faced reached safely. It's been feast or famine for the righty all season as he's pitched six innings and allowed one or fewer runs five times and been knocked around for five or more runs five other times. He has been particularly ineffective in July, allowing 17 runs in 17 innings across four starts. His next start will likely be next weekend against the Dodgers.

Kuhl allowed three runs on seven hits and four walks with two strikeouts in 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
For the sixth time in seven starts, Kuhl gave up at least six hits, though the four walks matched a season high, which he's done three times this year. Those two factors combined for an inefficient outing, as the right-hander needed 95 pitches (51 strikes) to get 14 outs. He exited with the Rockies trailing, but they rallied to tie the game twice before going ahead for good in the seventh inning. Kuhl now has a 4.11 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 65:37 K:BB through 92 innings in 17 starts. He'll likely make his next start after the All-Star break.

Kuhl (6-5) allowed four runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts in five innings, picking up the win Friday over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl surrendered home runs to Josh Rojas and Sergio Alcantara in the first two innings, but the Rockies went ahead for good in the top of the sixth. In his last six starts, Kuhl has allowed at least four runs four times, something he did only twice in his first 10 outings of 2022. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 4.02 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 63:33 K:BB through 87.1 innings overall. He's projected for a tough home start versus the Padres next week.

Kuhl didn't factor into the decision during Sunday's 6-5 victory over Arizona, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk with two strikeouts in five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl permitted a single run through four innings but encountered trouble in the fifth when David Peralta brought home four runs with a grand slam. The 29-year-old departed facing a 5-0 deficit, however Colorado was able to rally and erase a potential fourth loss in five turns. Aside from Monday's shutout of the Dodgers, Kuhl has surrendered 16 runs over his last 19.1 innings but his ERA is still a solid 3.83 thanks to the recent gem. He's currently slated for a rematch with Zac Gallen and Arizona next weekend.

Kuhl (5-5) earned the win over the Dodgers on Monday, pitching a complete-game shutout during which he allowed three hits and no walks while striking out five.
EDGE Analysis
Kuhl had been struggling entering the contest -- he'd allowed 11 earned runs and nine walks over his previous three starts covering 14.1 innings -- but baseball can be an unpredictable sport, and the right-hander emphasized that fact with his shutout against one of the league's best offenses. It was the first shutout of Kuhl's career, and he became the first pitcher in six years to accomplish the feat against the Dodgers, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. The veteran has had an up-and-down campaign, but his 3.49 ERA and 1.31 WHIP are currently career-best marks. He's a shaky option in fantasy, however, given his home field and career-low 17.5 percent strikeout rate.
