Carrasco (1-1) allowed two runs on six hits and struck out 12 with one walk during a victory against the Blue Jays on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
The 32-year-old gave up 10 hits in his season debut, but still struck out four across 4.1 innings. On Saturday, Carrasco allowed some traffic but not as much and worked around jams with 24 called strikes. Carrasco has posted a K/9 above 10.0 in three of the last four years, so it wouldn't at all be a surprise to see him around that number again in 2019. He is 1-1 with a 7.71 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 16 strikeouts in 9.1 innings over two outings. His next start should come against the Royals next week.

Carrasco (0-1) took the loss after surrendering six runs on 10 hits and a walk while striking out four over 4.1 innings Sunday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco allowed a run in the second, another in the fourth and four more in the fifth before being yanked from his 2019 debut. He pounded the strike zone throughout the game, hurling 45 of 65 pitches for strikes, but he evidently caught too much of the plate at times. Carrasco will aim for a better result in his next start, which is slated for Saturday against Toronto.

Carrasco covered 4.2 innings Friday in the Indians' 5-2 exhibition loss to the Rangers, surrendering three runs on five hits and no walks while striking out six.
EDGE Analysis
Making his second start of the spring, Carrasco breezed through three scoreless innings before meeting some resistance in the fourth. Carrasco allowed four base hits in five-batter stretch during that inning, but was at least able to regroup and retire the final three hitters he faced on the day. He'll likely make one or two more starts this spring before likely slotting in as the Tribe's No. 3 starter when the regular season arrives.

The Indians signed Carrasco to a contract extension through 2022 on Thursday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Indians exercised Carrasco's $10.25 million club option for 2020 before inking him to a two-year extension, which includes a vesting option for 2023. The 31-year-old righty has been a crucial rotation member for the Indians over the past four seasons, posting a combined 3.40 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 10.3 K/9 and 2.1 BB/9 over that stretch (722 innings).

Carrasco's 2019 club option was picked up by Cleveland on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The move is no surprise, as Carrasco will make just $9.75 million in 2019, T.J. Zuppe of The Athletic reports. Cleveland holds the pitcher's rights in 2020 as well, via another club option.

Carrasco (17-10) allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out six across five innings to earn the win Sunday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco had little trouble working through the Royals' lineup, allowing just three runners to reach scoring position. He also generated 15 swinging strikes, an impressive mark considering that he threw only 77 pitches Sunday. It was a strong close to the season for Carasco, ending the campaign with a 3.38 ERA and 1.13 WHIP to go along with 231 strikeouts across 192 innings. He'll make his next start in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Astros.

Carrasco (16-10) allowed three runs on four hits and four walks across 4.1 innings Tuesday to take the loss against the White Sox. He struck out eight.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco followed Trevor Bauer in this one, entering in the fifth inning. Though he started well enough, he narrowly escaped a jam in the eighth inning and blew a two-run lead in the ninth, when he allowed four of five hitters to reach as the home team plated three runs to win. Carrasco worked up to 81 pitches in this relief outing and should be sufficiently stretched out to take on a normal workload Sunday against the Royals in his final regular-season start.

Manager Terry Francona said Carrasco will come in for Trevor Bauer (lower leg) on Tuesday against the White Sox after the latter pitches a few innings, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Bauer attempting to build his arm back up to speed before the start of the postseason, he will take the hill Friday and then again Tuesday in the hopes of gradually increasing his workload. In order to assist the club in getting Bauer as much time as possible on the mound, Carrasco agreed to serve out of the bullpen instead of making a start during the three-game set in Chicago. Looking ahead, the Indians are lining Carrasco up to start Game 1 or 2 of the ALDS as long as everything goes according to plan.

Carrasco (16-9) took the loss Wednesday against the Rays, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks across seven innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
It was an unfortunate loss for Carrasco, as Blake Snell carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning opposite him. The right-hander served up a two-run homer to Ji-Man Choi in the first inning but settled in from there, allowing just one run over the next six innings to secure his second consecutive quality start. He'll carry a 3.43 ERA into his next start, which will come at home against the White Sox.

Carrasco allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out 14 across eight innings Friday against Toronto. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco surrendered an unearned run in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly, followed by another run in the seven. Despite fanning 10 or more batters for the fifth time this season, he left with the game tied 2-2. Carrasco looked sharp following an uncharacteristic outing his last time through the rotation, as he gave up five runs through 6.1 innings versus Tampa Bay on Sunday. The 31-year-old owns a robust 3.43 ERA with 199 strikeouts over 168 games this season and his next start is slated for Wednesday against Tampa Bay.
