Carrasco (hip) has been cleared to start Tuesday's Cactus League game against the Angels, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right hip flexor injury Carrasco picked up during a Feb. 20 workout proved to be only a short-term concern, as the right-hander was cleared to face hitters in a live batting practice session just over a week later. With Carrasco coming out of that workout no worse for the wear, he'll now take the hill for his first start of the spring. Carrasco should have enough time to build up his arm for a starter's workload when his first turn through the Tribe's regular-season rotation comes up in late March.

Carrasco (hip) is expected to make his first start of spring training Tuesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco threw a live batting practice session Friday, and he'll likely get into game action if he continues to recover smoothly. The right-hander was diagnosed with a right hip flexor strain early in spring training, but a return to game action would likely be a good sign regarding his availability for Opening Day.

Carrasco (hip) threw a live batting practice session Friday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco suffered a mild strain of his right hip flexor early in camp. The fact that he's throwing again just nine days later would seem to bode well for his readiness for Opening Day, though a clearer timeline may not emerge until he's back in game action.

Carrasco was diagnosed with a mild strain of his right hip flexor Friday.
EDGE Analysis
The news brings with it a sigh of relief after Carrasco was seen walking with a crutch in the clubhouse Thursday. He's merely considered day-to-day and will seemingly have plenty of time to get ready for Opening Day with the injury happening so early in camp.

Carrasco experienced discomfort in his right leg during a workout Wednesday and is scheduled to undergo further testing and imaging Thursday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The extent of Carrasco's injury won't be known until the Indians reveal the results of his MRI on Friday, but the fact that he was using a crutch to move about the clubhouse Thursday isn't the most reassuring sign. Carrasco was limited to just 80 innings in 2019 while he recovered from leukemia, but he entered spring training with no restrictions and was in line to slot back into the Tribe's rotation after finishing last season in a relief role. If Carrasco's leg injury proves significant, Cleveland could be without two of its top three starters for Opening Day, as Mike Clevinger (knee) appears likely to begin the season on the injured list.

Carrasco (6-7) picked up the win Sunday against the Phillies, allowing just one hit while striking out three batters across 2.2 scoreless innings.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco took over for starter Adam Plutko in the fifth inning with one out and runners at the corners and proceeded to get J.T. Realmuto to ground into an inning-ending double play to escape the frame with the game still knotted at one. The Indians scored three in the bottom of the inning and six more in the seventh as Carrasco cruised through the next two frames to pick up his sixth win of the season, and second since returning from the IL at the beginning of September. The right-hander appears to have found his footing after allowing at least one run in four of his first six appearances back; over his past three appearances, Carrasco has posted a 3:2 K:BB while allowing just one hit across five innings of relief.

Carrasco picked up the save after walking one over 1.1 scoreless innings Friday against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco was called upon with two outs in the eighth inning, and he managed to finish off the contest while allowing just one baserunner. The 32-year-old has now appeared in eight games since his return Sept. 1, and he's allowed three runs over 10 innings of relief work. Although Brad Hand was available Friday after battling a tired arm earlier in the week, the Indians elected to roll with Carrasco in a save situation.

Carrasco (5-7) walked two and struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings of relief Wednesday to get credit for the win in a 4-3 victory over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
He took over for Adam Plutko with one out in the fifth inning and a 4-2 lead, and while Carrasco wasn't exactly sharp, he kept the Halos off the board to pick up his first win since coming off the injured list. With Brad Hand (arm) not 100 percent, there's a chance Carrasco could see some save opportunities, but his usage in this one suggests manager Terry Francona would prefer to deploy him for multi-inning stints earlier in games.

Carrasco (4-7) took the loss in relief Tuesday against the White Sox after giving up four runs on four hits in his lone inning of work.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco was summoned to protect a 5-2 lead in the eighth inning, seemingly signaling that manager Terry Francona views him as one of the top setup options in front of closer Brad Hand. The skipper could reconsider his usage of Carrasco in the future, however, as the right-hander has been hit hard in both of his first two outings since returning from the 60-day injured list Sunday. He's given up five runs and six hits in two innings out of the bullpen, with both James McCann and Eloy Jimenez tagging him for home runs Wednesday.

The Indians reinstated Carrasco (illness) from the 60-day injured list Sunday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Carrasco will be reinstated to the active roster for the first time since early June after being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. After responding well to treatment, Carrasco was cleared for a rehab assignment in August and was stellar over four relief appearances, tossing five scoreless frames and striking out eight. He didn't have enough time to build up for a starter's workload, but Carrasco should emerge as a useful late-inning weapon out of the Cleveland bullpen for the rest of the regular season and playoffs.
