Carrasco allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out eight across six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco had a solid performance as his one slip-up was allowing a two-run homer to Gregory Polanco in the fourth inning. The 33-year-old struck out at least eight batters for the second straight start and was able to pitch himself out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth to keep the Indians in the game. Carrasco has rebounded tremendously in 2020 with a 2.91 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 82:27 K:BB across 68 innings and is a big reason the Indians are considered serious contenders to win the World Series.

EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old allowed three runs over six innings Tuesday and was expected to also pitch the seventh inning, but he then informed the coaching staff of the calf tightness. It appears to be a minor issue as pitching coach Carl Willis said the team expects Carrasco to make his next turn through the rotation Sunday in Detroit, though it's worth keeping an eye on his status over the next couple days.

Carrasco allowed three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out five across 4.1 innings Tuesday against the Pirates. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco surrendered one run in the first inning, but then settled in. However, he allowed two of the first three batters he faced to reach base in the fifth frame, both of whom were driven in on a double by Josh Bell. Carrasco has uncharacteristically battled his control of late, surrendering 12 free passes in his last 14.2 innings. He still has a respectable 3.71 ERA with 35 strikeouts across 26.2 innings for the season, but has struggled to work deep into games due to his inability to find the zone. Carrasco (2-2) allowed three earned runs on four hits and five walks while striking out seven across 4.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Cubs.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco worked around his control struggles, as he stranded all five batters he walked. However, he surrendered a solo home run to Anthony Rizzo to lead off the third inning. His bullpen also didn't help him, as he exited with two runners on in the fifth inning, both of whom came around to score. Carrasco had worked six innings in each of three starts prior to this effort, and still maintains a 3.22 ERA across 22.1 frames this season. He'll look to get back on track in his next outing, currently projected to come Tuesday at Pittsburgh.
