Carrasco (15-7) took the loss Tuesday as the Mets fell 6-4 to the Marlins, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran right-hander didn't have his best stuff, and with the Mets now in a dogfight for the NL East title with Atlanta, manager Buck Showalter gave Carrasco the hook after 67 pitches (41 strikes). He's now failed to go past four innings in either of his last two starts, and fatigue could well be a factor for the 35-year-old -- he hadn't thrown more than 85 innings across all levels in a season since 2018, but Carrasco's now up to 148 IP in 2022. He's scheduled to make one more start in the final series of the season next week against the Nationals.

Carrasco tossed four innings, giving up three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four in Tuesday's win over the Brewers. He did factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco didn't have his best stuff Tuesday, surrendering three runs in the second inning on four hits and a walk. He was able to follow up the difficult frame with two scoreless innings before being removed from the contest after the fourth. The poor outing snapped a two-game quality start streak for the right-hander. Since returning from the 15-day injured list Sept. 4, Carrasco has produced a 2.89 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 23 strikeouts over 18.2 frames in four starts.

Carrasco (15-6) earned the victory Thursday against the Pirates, striking out 11 in six innings while allowing a run on four hits and two walks.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco struck out eight batters in the first three innings on his way to fanning a season-high 11 batters. He finished the outing by retiring the last eight batters he faced. He's allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his last 10 starts, compiling a 2.12 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and a 62:16 K:BB in 59.1 innings in that span. His next start will likely be in the middle of next week in Milwaukee.

Carrasco (14-6) earned the win Saturday, allowing one run on four hits over six innings against the Marlins. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco allowed an RBI double by Garrett Cooper to put the Marlins up 1-0 but was otherwise unscored upon. The righty has been shutting opponents down in his last 10 games with a solid 2.19 ERA over 53.1 innings. The 35-year-old's 3.80 ERA in 2022 is a nice bounce-back from his 6.04 ERA in 53.2 innings during 2021.

Carrasco (13-6) took the loss Sunday, allowing five runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks over 2.2 innings against the Nationals. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old's return from an oblique injury did not go as planned as he surrendered a run on a double and a single to start the game. He got through the second inning with relative ease but ran into trouble again in the third after a one-out single and a costly Jeff McNeil throwing error snowballed into four runs, all of which were unearned, and led to him being pulled from the game after throwing 54 pitches. Carrasco will take a 3.91 ERA into his next start.

The Mets reinstated Carrasco (oblique) from the 15-day injured list in advance of his scheduled start Sunday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
According to Tim Healey of Newsday, reliever Adonis Medina was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse to open up a spot on the 28-man active roster for Carrasco, who was on the shelf for the past two and a half weeks with a left oblique strain. Since he didn't head out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated and instead threw a simulated game, Carrasco could be on a limited pitch count Sunday as he steps back into New York's rotation.

Carrasco (oblique) will return from the injured list to start Sunday against the Nationals, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco will return without making a rehab start, though he will have gone only roughly three weeks without making a start. He did manage a bullpen session and sim game within the last week but could still face a pitch limit Sunday. David Peterson is likely to get bumped from the rotation, and Tylor Megill (shoulder) appears destined for a relief role once activated.

Carrasco (oblique) is expected to return from the 15-day injured list during this weekend's series with the Nationals after he felt fine following a 55-pitch simulated game Monday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco has been on the shelf since Aug. 16 with the left oblique strain, and due to the brevity of his stint on the IL, the Mets apparently aren't planning on having him make a rehab start prior to his activation. If Carrasco is plugged back into the rotation Saturday or Sunday, he could be capped at around 70-to-90 pitches, but he shouldn't face any major workload restrictions in any starts that follow. Should the Mets elect to keep a five-man rotation intact upon Carrasco's return, David Peterson would likely be the odd man out and could move to the bullpen or get optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.

Carrasco (oblique) will throw a simulated game Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco has been on the injured list since Aug. 16, but he was cleared to resume mound work this week. The right-hander will take another step in his recovery process early next week by facing hitters, and it seems likely that he'll be able to begin a rehab assignment shortly after his simulated game.

Carrasco (oblique) said he feels "much, much better" after throwing a bullpen session Tuesday, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Carrasco landed on the 15-day IL with a strained left oblique last week, but he didn't face a significant shutdown due to the injury. The veteran right-hander is scheduled for another bullpen session Friday, though the following step in his rehab program remains unclear. His initial recovery timeline was was 3-to-4 weeks, and the quick return to mound work is a good sign he could be back in that timeframe.
