The Yankees have agreed to trade Beltran to the Rangers, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees' overhaul continues with the trade of Beltran, who is hitting .304/.344/.546 with 22 homers in his age-39 season. The switch-hitter has beaten up on left-handed pitching to the tune of a 1.045 OPS while more than holding his own against righties, and will give the AL West-leading Rangers some extra thump in the heart of the order. Right-hander Dillon Tate is heading to New York in return.

Beltran went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
He's now a single run shy of being one of only three active players, along with Albert Pujols and teammate Alex Rodriguez, to have 1500 runs and 1500 RBI. Beltran's .304/.344/.546 slash line and 22 homers on the season could make him an enticing trade target for a contender looking to add offense though, so there's no guarantee he and ARod will still be teammates when he does reach the milestone.

Beltran went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
He kicked off the scoring with a first inning shot off Jeff Samardzija, Beltran's 21st homer of the season. The veteran could well be in another uniform by this time next week, but as long as Beltran stays healthy he should keep hitting no matter where he's playing.

Beltran went 2-for-2 with an RBI single and two walks in Friday's 3-2 victory over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger plated Ronald Torreyes in the second for his eighth RBI of July. It's been a stellar month for Beltran in a resurgent season overall, as he's slashed .339/.382/.468 over 62 at-bats, with seven multi-hit efforts.

Beltran went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI against the Orioles on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Not only does the 39-year-old slugger have 20 homers (one more than last season) and 60 RBI (just seven fewer than last season), he's accumulated those numbers while hitting a startling .304, his best average since he hit .325 over half a season in 2009. A trade chip at a number of deadlines past, Beltran once again looks like an appetizing option for a contender if the Yankees -- who are struggling to tread water around .500 -- decide to be sellers.

Beltran went 3-for-4 with a double in Monday's win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
It was Beltran's second straight multi-hit effort, as he's hitting .333 in July and continues to be the Yankees most reliable hitter. On the down side though, the 39-year-old -- who quickly matched his home run total from last season with 19 -- hasn't hit a long ball since June 22. Despite that, he's still filling out the rest of the boxscore regularly enough to be relied upon.

Beltran went 1-for-4 with a two-run single in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger's two-run single in the sixth plated Starlin Castro and Chase Headley, giving the Yankees their first runs of the game. Beltran's performance at the plate has particularly ramped up since June 1, and he currently has a four-game hitting streak while also driving in runs in three straight contests.

Beltran, who has been dealing with a lingering hamstring injury, says that he's ready to return to right field when the second half begins on Friday, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beltran aggravated his hamstring on June 28, which moved him to the DH role for the remaining games leading up to the All-Star break. Moving back to right field will open up more options for manager Joe Girardi, who will now be able to get Alex Rodriguez more at-bats for the Yankees.

Beltran went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Sunday's win over the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
He caps off a strong first half with a .299/.338/.550 slash line and he's already matched last season's home run total with 19. Age is definitely slowing the 39-year-old Beltran down though, and he seems to be settling in as the Yankees' full-time DH instead of their right fielder. Expect the team to limit his time in the outfield as best they can going forward.
