Beltran went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Beltran was making his debut for the Astros, who signed him to a one-year deal in the offseason to bring added offense to the lineup. He served as Houston's designated hitter Tuesday and batted fifth, protecting cleanup hitter Carlos Correa. The 39-year-old's bat is still a threat, and he'll be a middle-of the-order presence for Houston in 2017.

Beltran will split time between left field and designated hitter with the Astros in 2017, MLB.com's Brian McTaggart reports.
EDGE Analysis
This makes sense, as Josh Reddick has the better arm, making him a better fit in right field. Presumably when Brian McCann is out of the lineup (against lefties), Evan Gattis will slot in at catcher with Beltran getting the start at DH. The fact that he will get to DH a couple times each week should help Beltran's legs stay fresh in his age-40 season. He should play almost every day, potentially batting cleanup in what should be one of the best lineups in baseball.

Beltran agreed to a one-year, $16 million contract with the Astros on Saturday, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports. The deal includes a full no-trade clause.
EDGE Analysis
The Astros just continue to bolster their already impressive lineup, adding Beltran after acquiring Brian McCann and Josh Reddick earlier in the offseason. Beltran continued to put up outstanding numbers in his age-39 season, batting .295/.337/.513 with 29 homers and 93 RBI in 151 games between New York and Texas. He should play close to every day between right field and DH while batting in the heart of the order.

Beltran said Tuesday that he has no plans to retire and will play in 2017, MLB.com's TR Sullivan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beltran will turn 40 years old soon after the 2017 season kicks off, so it would not have come as a major surprise if he decided to hang up the cleats this offseason. However, he posted an .850 OPS over 151 games in 2016, leaving no doubt that he still has the skills to compete -- and do so at a high level -- against MLB pitching. Beltran will be a free agent, so it remains to be seen which uniform he will wear next year.

Beltran is out of the lineup Saturday against the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Friday's win secured home-field advantage throughout the playoffs and several Rangers veterans are being rewarded with a day off. Beltran hit .304/.360/.511 in September, and with a homer Friday, he's just one shy of 30 for the season.

Beltran is out of Sunday's lineup against Oakland, Stefan Stevenson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Beltran has started five consecutive games for the Rangers, going 6-for-19 with two walks in that time. Adrian Beltre will serve as the DH on Sunday while Beltran sits out.

Beltran is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Beltran had started each of the last 12 games, going 20-for-5 0 (.400 average) with three homers, 13 RBI and 10 runs. He'll likely be plugged back into the lineup Monday against the Astros, but will give way to Adrian Beltre at DH in the Sunday's series finale.

Beltran went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in Wednesday's loss to Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
He accounted for all the Rangers' runs while pushing his hitting streak to 10 games -- a stretch in which Beltran has racked up a .439 average, three homers, 12 RBI and 10 runs with a 5:6 BB:K. He slumped for a while after being dealt at the trade deadline, but is certainly settled in with Texas now, so fantasy owners can feel comfortable riding the 39-year-old slugger down the stretch.

Beltran went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, run-scoring double, two walks and a run in Saturday's 12-4 victory over the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger was a constant thorn in the side of Astros pitching Saturday, extending his hitting streak to six games in the process. Beltran has three multi-hit efforts over that span, along with a pair of homers and seven RBI. The 39-year-old is putting together his best power numbers since early this decade, with his 26 homers representing his highest total since 2012.

Beltran homered, scored twice, and drove in a pair in a 3-for-4 game in Monday's win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Beltran looks like he's back on track, as he's a robust 5-for-9 over his past two games after Monday's explosive performance. He still owns a brutal .244/.277/.400 batting line since coming to Texas from the Yankees, but at least the power has been there -- Beltran has eight extra-base hits out of his 22 total hits, including three home runs.
