Doval struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 13th save of the season in a 3-1 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
After getting Edgar Quero to ground out to begin the ninth, Doval got Mike Tauchman and Chase Meidroth to chase sliders out of the zone to wrap things up. It was a strong bounce-back effort from the right-hander after he'd been tagged for six runs (five earned) without fanning a batter in his prior two appearances. Since being named the closer by manager Bob Melvin at the end of May, Doval has posted a shaky 5.40 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB over 13.1 innings, but he's converted eight of his nine save chances.

Doval earned the save in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Red Sox, allowing two runs on three hits in the ninth inning without recording a walk or a strikeout.
EDGE Analysis
Doval entered the ninth with a three-run lead and gave up three straight hits before settling down to retire the next three batters and secure the win. While the 27-year-old has converted six of seven save chances in June, he's also allowed five earned runs across 10 appearances. On the season, he's 12-for-15 in save opportunities with a 2.06 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 33:15 K:BB over 35 innings.

Doval picked up the save in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Guardians, fanning one during a clean ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Doval is now up to 11 saves for the season, and he continues to be effective in San Francisco's closer role. Since officially being named the club's stopper by manager Bob Melvin on May 28, Doval has converted six of his seven save opportunities and has posted a 2.53 ERA with 13 strikeouts over these last 10.2 innings. However, the hard-throwing right-hander does have a shaky 1.69 WHIP during that period, so he does have some control issues to iron out.

Doval picked up his 10th save in Tuesday's 6-5 victory over the Rockies. He allowed two hits and one walk with no strikeouts over a scoreless inning.
EDGE Analysis
Doval had a shaky outing but managed to close out the Rockies after the Giants took a one-run lead in the top of the ninth inning. Since surrendering two runs and blowing a save against the Padres on June 5, the right-hander has turned in four straight scoreless appearances, including three saves. While control has occasionally been an issue, the flamethrower has been outstanding overall in 2025, pitching to a 1.45 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 31 innings.

Doval picked up the save Sunday against Atlanta, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Doval surrendered two runs in a blown save against the Padres on Tuesday, but he's bounced back with three consecutive scoreless outings, accumulating six strikeouts during that stretch. The 27-year-old has cashed in on nine of his 12 save chances this season and owns a 1.50 ERA across 30 innings.

Doval earned the save in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Padres, allowing two hits while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
EDGE Analysis
After suffering a blown save in his last appearance Tuesday, Doval found himself in trouble again against the Padres, allowing a pair of singles that put the tying and go-ahead runs on base. However, Doval would rebound to strike out Jake Cronenworth for the final out, closing out a one-run Giants victory. Doval's allowed just two runs in his last 22.2 innings while reclaiming the ninth-inning job in San Francisco. His ERA sits at 1.61 on the year with a 0.96 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB across 28 innings while converting eight of 11 save opportunities.

Doval allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two over one inning to take a blown save in Tuesday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Doval entered Tuesday on a 20.2-inning scoreless streak. He ran into trouble with back-to-back two-out walks, and he then gave up the tying hit, a two-run single, to Manny Machado. Aside from a rough patch in early April, Doval has been lights-out in a high-leverage role for the Giants this year, and that earned him the closer role officially last Wednesday, taking it back from the struggling Ryan Walker. Even with this poor outing, Doval has a 1.67 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 24:13 K:BB across 27 innings this season. He's added seven saves, seven holds and three blown saves. He should be able to maintain at least some closing duties as long as one bad outing doesn't snowball into a slump.

Doval earned a four-out save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Marlins, allowing one hit and two walks without recording a strikeout while holding Miami scoreless.
EDGE Analysis
Doval threw just nine strikes on 21 pitches but managed to convert his second save since being named the Giants' closer. The 27-year-old is in the midst of a strong bounce-back campaign, posting a 1.04 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB across 26 innings.

Doval recorded his sixth save during Friday's 2-0 win over the Marlins after pitching 1.1 innings, allowing no runs or hits, walking one and striking out two.
EDGE Analysis
In his first chance as the official closer of the Giants, Doval was asked to get the team out of a jam in the eighth and then all three outs in the ninth, and he delivered to pick up his sixth save. There haven't been many more dominant pitchers than the 27-year-old lately with his 20th straight scoreless outing bringing his season-long ERA down to 1.07. He's allowed just four hits over that stretch.

Manager Bob Melvin announced Doval as the Giants closer after Wednesday's loss to the Tigers, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ryan Walker opened the season as the club's primary closer, but Doval overcame a bumpy start to work his way into the mix with five saves. The right-hander hasn't recorded any saves since April 24, though he's tallied two wins and six holds in that stretch while being unscored upon in his past 19 appearances. Before faltering with a 4.88 ERA in 2024 and being removed from the closer role, Doval was a reliable ninth-inning option for the Giants with a 2.77 ERA and 69 saves across his first three MLB campaigns.
