Cameron Maybin hit a two-run home run in Saturday's loss to the Royals. It was Maybin's only hit in two at-bats. Maybin also drew a walk before exiting. Now healthy, the 26-year-old is hoping 2014 will finally be the year he delivers on his great promise.

In an interview on Sirius XM Fantasy, Cameron Maybin said Saturday that he plans to steal 30-40 bases and score 80-90 runs this season as long as he's healthy. Of course health is one of the primary concerns for the oft-injured outfielder, but it's nice to see the 26-year-old set lofty goals for himself. He makes for a very interesting flyer in the later stages of mixed league drafts, as his speed alone has the potential to return a profit.

According to Bill Center of the San Diego Union Tribune, Cameron Maybin (wrist) said he's feeling better than he has since his first spring training with the Padres. The oft-injured outfielder has dealt with numerous injuries and ailments along with poor performance in his young career. Still, he's just 26-years-old and possesses the same dazzling blend of power and speed that once made him one of the game's top prospects. As long as he's healthy enough to earn the starting gig in center field to begin the season, Maybin should to enough with his legs to offset his poor batting average and deliver value in mixed leagues.

Surgery on Cameron Maybin's right wrist Friday was more extensive than the Padres had predicted. "A little more was done in the wrist and joint than expected," manager Bud Black said. "Cameron had some action going on in the joint. There were loose particles and loose cartilage in the joint. Going in, we didn't know what to find." The Padres actually think it could be good news, as now they have a better idea as to why the wrist has bothered Maybin since 2011. The bad news is that his recovery period will now be 8-12 weeks rather than the 4-8 weeks as initially expected. Maybin should still be fine by the start of spring training.

Cameron Maybin is scheduled to undergo surgery on his right wrist in the near future. This news officially rules Maybin out for the season. The Padres announced Friday that he will play winter ball this offseason in an effort make up for lost developmental time, but it sounds like taking at-bats in December is a highly questionable proposition at this point. Maybin will be entering his age-27 season in 2014.

While he still isn't performing baseball activities, the Padres received good news regarding injured outfielder Cameron Maybin on Friday, that he will not require knee surgery. Maybin still seems like a longshot to return before the end of the 2013 season, but the Padres announced Friday that he will play winter ball this offseason in an effort to make up for lost time. A tremendous disappointment to this point in his career, Maybin will look to get back on track during his age-27 season in 2014.

Cameron Maybin (knee) will not do any baseball activities for the next two weeks. He'll get a second opinion on his ailing left knee in the meantime. Maybin has twice been pulled from his rehab assignment due to discomfort in the knee, and at this point a return this season is up in the air. He seem likely to at least undergo a cleanup procedure at some point.

Cameron Maybin has been pulled off his rehab assignment again and will have his left knee evaluated by team doctors. Maybin could also get a second opinion after that. The outfielder first began his rehab assignment in late July, but he's now twice been pulled from it due to persistent pain in his left knee. We'll see what the doctors say first, but it's looking unlikely that Maybin will make much of an impact before the end of the season.

Cameron Maybin (knee) will resume his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tucson over the weekend. Maybin was temporarily pulled from the assignment earlier this week due to ongoing soreness in his left knee, but it obviously wasn't a big deal. If he can avoid more setbacks, he should rejoin the Padres before the end of the month.

Cameron Maybin has been temporarily pulled from his minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Tucson due to continued pain in his left knee. Maybin tore the PCL in his knee back in June and is still dealing with some discomfort, but the Padres are hopeful he'll be able to play after a few days of rest. The 26-year-old is 1-for-10 with a home run and three walks over five rehab games so far.
