Mitchell will start the season in the majors, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell has been terrific in the spring, pitching to a 0.61 ERA with 11 strikeouts to just one walk. He's worked primarily as a starter throughout his career thus far, but with the Yankees rotation seemingly set, the 24-year-old figures to get the majority of his work out of the bullpen in more of a long-relief capacity.

Mitchell appears to be in line to win a spot in the major league bullpen, Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell has been superb throughout the spring, working to a 0.61 ERA with 11 strikeouts in five appearances (three starts). The 24-year-old struggled in the big leagues last season, working mainly out of the bullpen, but he's excelled at the upper levels of the minors. The righty figures to work as a long relief option, but he could also be called upon for the occasional spot start.

Mitchell has a 1.13 ERA in three appearances (two starts) so far in the spring.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell has worked as both a starter and a reliever so far in his career, but it looks like the club is stretching him out to start. The major league rotation looks to be all accounted for, barring injury, so the righty may start the season in the minors and serve as organizational depth there. It's also possible he's used in a long relief capacity in the big leagues, though he'd likely be resigned to lower-leverage situations in that case.

Mitchell allowed two runs over two innings in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell has struggled heavily in the final month of the season, posting a 13.50 ERA with seven walks in just six innings in September. The 24-year-old made a pair of starts in the majors, but will primarily serve as a long relief option out of the bullpen.

Mitchell (concussion) was reinstated from the 7-day concussion DL on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Mitchell landed on the concussion DL for 10 days after taking a liner off the face, but he was cleared of all symptoms back on Saturday. The Yankees opted to bring him back slowly after the scary incident and were pleased by the results of his simulated game Tuesday. He'll be available out of the bullpen Friday in Atlanta.

New York Yankees pitcher Bryan Mitchell was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list Tuesday, according to the New York Daily News. Mitchell was struck by a line drive during Monday's game against the Minnesota Twins and suffered a small nasal fracture in addition to the concussion.

Mitchell was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday. Mitchell was optioned to Triple-A following Sunday's game, but he'll return in short order to fill the spot of Ramon Flores, who was sent to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre earlier Tuesday. Mitchell made his first major league appearance of the season Saturday against Detroit, allowing one earned run on four hits in 3.0 innings.

Mitchell has been optioned to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre. Mitchell will head back to the minors after one game and a very unorthodox save. He's being replaced by Danny Burawa since the Yankees could need a fresh arm and likely don't want to push him into the bullpen just yet. He could get back to the majors if New York needs a spot starter or gets desperate for bullpen help again.

Mitchell went three innings in relief in Saturday's blowout of the Tigers, allowing one run on four hits while striking out two to earn his first MLB save. It was actually his first save in professional baseball, as Mitchell's been a starter in the minors. If you somehow benefited from this performance in fantasy, drop what you're doing and go to Vegas right now. Mitchell had been considered for the start Saturday, but the Yankees instead elected to push up Nathan Eovaldi on three days' rest. The 24-year-old Mitchell has pitched to a 2.79 ERA, but a non-matching 1.33 WHIP for Triple-A Scranton this year. It's uncertain whether he'll stick around as a bullpen arm for the Yankees, but he delivered sufficiently credible work in this one.
