Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette said Tuesday that the team is in "wait-and-see mode" regarding Brian Roberts. In other words, nothing has changed. Roberts didn't attend the Orioles' annual FanFest last month due to lingering post-concussion symptoms and there's no telling what condition he'll be in once spring training rolls around. Those in mixed leagues should consider other options unless he makes significant progress.

Brian Roberts may have to miss the Orioles' upcoming FanFest due to lingering post-concussion symptoms. Roberts did not appear in a game after May 16 last season due to the severe concussion and may still be struggling when spring training gets underway next month. The veteran second baseman can be left alone in fantasy drafts this year, unless his health suddenly improves within the next month or so.

Orioles activated 2B Brian Roberts from the 60-day disabled list. Roberts didn't play again this season after suffering a concussion on May 16. The veteran second baseman was recently symptom-free for two weeks for the first time since the incident and doctors are optimistic that he will healthy for the start of spring training.

Brian Roberts (concussion) recently told the Baltimore Sun that he was feeling better than at any time in the past six months. Roberts, who didn't play again this season after suffering a concussion on May 16, was recently symptom-free for two weeks for the first time since the incident. "We have friends who tell me they can't believe how much better I look than I did even in September," Roberts said last week. "I can't tell you how wonderful it is to be feeling normal." Concussion specialist Michael Collins expects Roberts' health and conditioning to be normal by the start of spring training, but setbacks are certainly possible.

Brian Roberts (concussion) finally conceded Friday that it's unlikely he'll make it back this season. Roberts, who has been out since mid-May, continues to work out and perform baseball-related activities at the team's spring training complex, but he still hasn't played in any games and won't do so until he's symptom-free. With the minor league season ending in a few days, he just doesn't have enough time. "I don't think we've ever sat down and necessarily ruled out anything," Roberts said. "It would probably take, at this point, everything to go really, really, really well for the next couple of weeks." Doctors have told Roberts, who has dealt with a concussion in consecutive seasons, that they don't consider his career to be in jeopardy, but with head injuries, you never know.

Brian Roberts had a checkup Thursday with sports-concussion specialist Dr. Michael Collins. Roberts is still experiencing symptoms related to his mid-May concussion and was not cleared Thursday after the visit with Collins. The O's haven't officially shut him down yet, but he's unlikely to make it back this year.

Brian Roberts (concussion) hasn't ruled out a return before the end of the season, but is more focused on avoiding a setback. "I certainly haven't given up hope that I'll be able to play at some point this season, but that's not my choice," said Roberts, who suffered a concussion on a head-first slide into second base on May 16. "We are taking every precaution to do what we can to make sure this doesn't happen again. I think that's our first and foremost [goal]." While the veteran second baseman is rehabbing at the team's spring training facility in Sarasota, he is still not participating in physical activity that requires a lot of exertion. That could change if he hears positive news from concussion specialist Dr. Michael Collins on Wednesday. Still, we wouldn't count on seeing him again this season.

Brian Roberts is scheduled to see concussion specialist Dr. Michael Collins on Wednesday. While it's still not clear if he will return this season, Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun notes that he is "making some progress." The veteran second baseman hasn't played since May 16.

According to the Baltimore Sun, it remains "uncertain" if Brian Roberts (concussion) will return this season. Roberts is still dealing with post-concussion symptoms, and has not been cleared for any baseball activity. The odds are high that he's taken his final at-bat of the 2011 season.

Brian Roberts (concussion) experienced more headaches Tuesday and did not do any baseball activities. The Orioles have maintained that the headaches are not related to his concussion, but it's a setback, nonetheless. While his return hasn't been ruled out this season, fantasy owners are advised to look elsewhere.
