Roberts had a horrific start to the season, batting .213 with a .590 OPS as recently as the start of play on Friday. Since then, he's hit safely in four consecutive games, going 7-for-17 (.412). Roberts may just become AL-only relevant, after all. He's got the average up to .250 and the OPS up to .664.

Brian Roberts went 1-for-4 with a single and a strikeout in Friday's blowout loss to the Angels. Roberts has hit safely in four straight games (three of them multi-hit games), but he's still batting just .222/.315/.270 on the year. The oft-injured second baseman has just two extra-base hits so far. It's a great situation to play half of your games in Yankee Stadium, but he hasn't done anything to show that he'll take advantage of it.

With an extremely long and lengthy injury history, including several recurring back problems, this is certainly something fantasy owners should take note of. No word yet on the severity of the injury or how much time, if any, he may miss.

Brian Roberts went 3-for-4 against the Astros on Wednesday. All three hits were singles. Roberts, 36, is taking over at second base in the Bronx for the departed Robinson Cano. The veteran has had trouble staying on the field since 2010. If he can manage to stay healthy, he may have some limited value in the batting average and stolen base categories.

It sounds like Roberts need only get through the spring healthy in order to ensure himself a starting job, but it's not like he was particularly good offensively (.249/.312/.392 in 265 AB) or defensively for the Orioles last season. The Yankees will let him prove himself in April, but there's no reason to give him too much rope if he doesn't hit.
