Dozier will bat cleanup Wednesday against the Royals, Tyler Mason of FOX Sports North reports. Dozier has been unable to get it going in the two-hole (.217/.217/.348) so manager Paul Molitor will move him to cleanup, a spot in which Dozier has never logged an at-bat to this point in his career. Torii Hunter will be moved to the No. 2 spot, and it seems at least possible Molitor will continue to lean on Dozier as a key RBI producer, given the Twins' offensive struggles as a whole to this point (they rank dead last in MLB in runs). If so, Dozier's stolen base opportunities would take a hit.

Dozier will hit in the No. 2 spot in the batting order this season despite manager Paul Molitor experimenting with Dozier in the No. 3 spot this spring, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Moving Joe Mauer to the No. 2 spot ahead of Dozier would appear to be a better fit since Mauer's high OBP would play better ahead of Dozier's power. It's possible Molitor may change his mind at some point during the regular season.

Dozier signed a four-year, $20 million extensions with the Twins on Tuesday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. The deal runs through 2018, buying out Dozier's arbitration years. He'll get $2 million in 2015, $3 million in 2016, $6 million in 2017, and $9 million in 2018. The second baseman gets some security, while the Twins will save some money if he thrives over the next couple of years. Dozier mostly hit second in the lineup last season, but Twins manager Paul Molitor said he may bat his second baseman in the No. 3 hole this year.

Dozier may hit third in the lineup this season, manager Paul Molitor told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Dozier has two home runs and is 7-for-14 in five games this spring. Joe Mauer may move up to second in the order as a result. It would make sent to have Mauer near the top of the order since he has a high OBP. Dozier hit mostly second in the order last season and his power, but lower OBP, is likely a better fit lower in the order.

Dozier was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's Grapefruit League lineup due to illness, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. The Twins thought they were in the clear following a rash of illnesses last week, but Dozier fell under the weather and was sent home to rest up. Doug Bernier will slot into the lineup, taking over at second base and batting eighth in his absence. Expect Dozier back in a matter of days.

Dozier had a big night at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and a home run in the Twins' win over Detroit on Friday night. He also made a highlight reel defensive play while the game was still in doubt. His batting average (.243) has been a bit of a disappointment, but with over 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases, his production has been huge help for the Twins and his fantasy owners.

Dozier is not in the lineup Monday, Fox Sports North's Tyler Mason reports. It's a rare day off for Dozier, who had started six straight games at the keystone. Doug Bernier will get the start at second Monday.

Dozier is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, according to LaVelle Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Dozier is just 6-for-39 (.154) this month, so manager Ron Gardenhire decided to give him a day off for the first time since Sept. 3. Eduardo Escobar will man second base for the Twins in Dozier's place.

Dozier is out of the lineup Wednesday against the White Sox. Dozier locked up a 20-20 season back a few weeks ago already, but his steep dropoff in production from the first two months of the season has left his owners wanting more. Perhaps a day of rest will be what Dozier needs to finish the season with a flourish, but in fairness, his numbers have probably already exceeded what most projected for him coming into the campaign.

Dozier went 1-for-3 with a walk and his 20th stolen base in Wednesday's loss to Cleveland. He becomes just the sixth Twins player to record 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a season. Despite his strong power-speed numbers, Dozier has been slumping lately as he was hitting just .219 in August before Wednesday with only one home run and two stolen bases.
