Dozier left camp Monday for family reasons, Phil Miller of the Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
The reasons were undisclosed, but it was noted that Dozier should be back within a week. With the extended spring training this year, the 29-year-old won't be affected by the short absence.

Dozier (oblique) plans to start taking swings later this month, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports
EDGE Analysis
Dozier took two months off following the end of the regular season in order to allow his oblique injury to heal. The star second baseman's future with the Twins is currently uncertain, as he has been the center of many trade rumors this offseason. It is possible he finds himself in a more advantageous situation next season, but it will be hard for him to improve upon what was likely a career year in 2016.

EDGE Analysis
Doezier left Saturday's game with a sore oblique, which will keep him out Sunday as well. With Dozier sitting, Eduardo Escobar will start at second while Byron Buxton hits leadoff.

Dozier left Saturday's game against the White Sox with right oblique soreness, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dozier nearly lasted the entire game but ultimately exited after three at-bats. With Sunday being the last game of the season for Minnesota, it wouldn't be surprising to see him rested as a precaution.

Dozier is out of the lineup Thursday against the Royals, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday will mark just the second time that Dozier hasn't been in the lineup for the month of September. With Dozier out, Eduardo Escobar will start at second base while Jorge Polanco moves up to the leadoff spot.

Dozier hit his 42nd home run of the season in Game 1 of the Twins' doubleheader Thursday against the Tigers. It was his 40th homer while playing second base, which set the American League single-season record, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
He's also only the fourth player in Major League Baseball history to reach the 40-dinger mark while manning the keystone, joining the illustrious company of Rogers Hornsby, Davey Johnson and Ryne Sandberg. Dozier's power hasn't been a question: He'd increased his seasonal big-fly total from 18 to 23 to 28 before this year's eye-popping numbers. His biggest 2017 riddle, however, will be sustaining his .281 batting average, which looks like an outlier.

Dozier went 1-for-3 with a two-run single and two walks in Thursday's 5-1 win at Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
Dozier's two-run single in the second inning extended his hitting streak to 19 games. He has been on base 10 times over the last four games while driving in five runs thanks in large part to two doubles and two homers in that stretch. The second baseman is just one run and two RBI short of reaching 100.

Dozier hit his 40th home run of the season Monday, setting a new career high and helping the Twins to a 4-2 win over the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Dozier continues to hit bombs out of the leadoff spot for Minnesota, with 25 of his 40 homers coming while batting first in the order. The 40 homers are second in the majors only to Baltimore slugger Mark Trumbo. While his 96 runs are impressive, one can't help but think Dozier might have even more than the 94 RBI has has if he were batting in the middle of the lineup.

Dozier hit his 39th home run, a solo blast, in a 1-for-4 game Tuesday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Dozier now has an 11-game hitting streak, but more importantly, he has homered in five straight games, amassing seven total blasts and 10 RBI in those five games. Since his first multi-homer game of the season when he hit two on July 31, Dozier is hitting an absurd .338/.385/.854 with 22 home runs in just 36 games.

Dozier continued his ridiculous power streak with three home runs against the Royals on Monday, but it was not enough as the Twins fell 11-5.
EDGE Analysis
Dozier has been absolutely incredible this past week, hitting a whopping eight home runs, all out of the leadoff spot for the Twins. It was Dozier's first three homer game of his career, and brought his season haul to 38, second most in the MLB and easily the most among second basemen. While Dozier was hitting just .246 with 14 home runs at the All-Star Break, patient fantasy owners have been amply rewarded with a stellar second half from Dozier, who is looking like he'll finish the season as one of the most valuable players in all of fantasy.
