Eibner signed a minor-league deal with the Marlins on Tuesday and will join the team's alternate training site, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eibner spent parts of two seasons in the big leagues in 2016 and 2017 with the Royals, Athletics and Dodgers, appearing exclusively as an outfielder. He's been a two-way player more recently, however, appearing as an outfielder and a pitcher both in the Rangers' minor-league system and with the independent Sugar Land Skeeters. The Marlins are expected to use him as a pitcher.

Eibner (elbow) pitched an inning in the rookie-level Arizona League on Tuesday, Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eibner is a former outfielder who injured his elbow and needed Tommy John surgery after initially attempting a conversion to pitching. The Rangers announced him as an outfielder when they signed him last December, but the transformation from the field to the mound continues.

Eibner (elbow) signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Friday, Jared Sandler of 105.3 The Fan reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eibner will likely miss most of the 2018 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in early August, which was required after he attempted to convert from an outfielder to a relief pitcher for the Dodgers. Important to note, the Rangers announced Eibner as an outfielder during his signing, which dispels any notion that he will try to return as a pitcher. As the case with an elbow injury such as this, it will be much faster for him to be back on the field as a position player anyways. During 17 big-league games with Los Angeles in 2017, he slashed .182/.250/.364 with two home runs and six RBI.

Eibner (elbow) was released by the Dodgers on Monday, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eibner was cut loose after being designated for assignment earlier in the week. The 28-year-old slashed .182/.250/.364 with two homers in 17 games with the Dodgers this season. Eibner underwent Tommy John surgery at the beginning of August, so he isn't expected to return until late next season.

Eibner (elbow) was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Just a month after undergoing Tommy John surgery, Eibner was handed a DFA in order to make room for September call-ups on the active roster. This was a somewhat expected move considering he won't be returning to the field until late next season. During 17 games with the Dodgers this season, Eibner hit .182/.250/.364 with a pair of home runs and six RBI.

Eibner (elbow) will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery Tuesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
There was some speculation earlier in the year that Eibner could develop as a pitcher a bit and act as a hybrid outfielder/reliever for Los Angeles at some point, but this likely puts the kibosh on those plans. The 28-year-old will likely be able to return to action much earlier as a hitter than as a pitcher, but this appears to be an extended absence for him either way.

Eibner was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Eibner has struggled mightily during his brief tenure in the big leagues this season, and with the Dodgers getting Justin Turner back from the disabled list Friday, Eibner was an easy choice to send back to the minors. He'll continue to act as organizational outfield depth until injuries arise in Los Angeles again.

Eibner went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-2 win over the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Just recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in the wake of Justin Turner's hamstring injury, Eibner paid immediate dividends, taking Justin Nicolino deep with a 403-foot shot to center in the fourth that plated Yasiel Puig. The 28-year-old has slashed .308/.400/.769 in 13 games with the big-league club overall this season and should see solid playing time during his current stint.

Eibner was recalled by the Dodgers on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Eibner will return for his fourth stint with the major-league club already this season, replacing Justin Turner (hamstring) on the active roster. The 28-year-old Eibner will step in right away for a start in center field Friday against lefty Justin Nicolino. He's hit .267/.267/.467 against left-handed pitching with Triple-A Oklahoma City so far this year.

Eibner is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Dodgers are still awaiting MRI results on Justin Turner (hamstring), but are preparing to move forward with a temporary replacement nonetheless. Eibner provides outfield depth to an injury-depleted roster, allowing Enrique Hernandez to take on a full-time role at the hot corner while Logan Forsythe (toe) continues to work back from the DL. The 28-year-old outfielder is slashing .258/.296/.455 in Triple-A this season.
