Brandon Inge's rehab from arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder will take 4-5 months. Inge thinks he's a quick healer, as he believes it will only take him two months. It's really a moot point, as he won't return this season but should be 100 percent for spring training next year either way. He'll be a free agent this winter after the A's decline his $6 million option.

Brandon Inge underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. While there has been no official timetable set for his return, he will miss the remainder of the season. He did a decent job as a member of the A's this year, slashing .226/.286/.389 with 11 homers and 52 RBI over 283 at-bats.

Brandon Inge will undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder this week. Inge on Saturday aggravated the injury that sent him to the DL last month. "My damn shoulder came out again," said Inge. "I gave it my best shot. I knew it was going to be rough coming into it." The recovery period for the surgery is six months. A free agent after the season, Inge is hoping to return to the A's in a utility role. Josh Donaldson will be the team's third baseman down the stretch.

Brandon Inge left Saturday's game against the Red Sox after re-aggravating his right shoulder injury. Inge returned from the disabled list on Saturday afternoon and went 1-for-2 with a two-run double before exiting. There has been no announcement on the severity or extent of the injury, but expect Josh Donaldson to continue manning the hot corner for at least another couple of games.

Brandon Inge (shoulder) might not be activated from the disabled list until the Athletics return home Friday. Inge is eligible to be activated on Monday, but the A's want him to test his shoulder more before bringing him back. The 25-year-old is 2-for-12 (.167) with two doubles and an RBI over his first four rehab games with Triple-A Sacramento. He's not a lock to get the third base job back when he returns.

The A's aren't sure if Brandon Inge (shoulder) will come off the disabled list when first eligible on Monday. "We are going to wait and make sure he's healthy, and see what our best options are," manager Bob Melvin said. Inge began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento Thursday, going 1-for-3 with a double, walk, run scored and RBI. He may split time with Josh Donaldson when he returns.
