Guyer is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer gets the day off Saturday after starting each of the last 14 games for the Rays. Shortstop Brad Miller will slide up to the leadoff spot against the Twins while Steve Pearce serves as the DH. Guyer figures to rejoin the lineup for Sunday's series finale at Target Field.

Guyer stayed hot against the Yankees in Sunday's 2-1 loss, notching two more hits over four at-bats.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old has hits in three of his last four games, and has his line up to .311/.406/.549 on the season. The average represents a 43-point improvement over Guyer's .268 career figure, and he's tallied nine multi-hit outings in May. With a premium spot at the top of the order and a hot bat, he's a valuable commodity in any format at the moment.

Guyer went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Thursday's 9-1 loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old led off, and accounted for the Rays' only run on a day where Jose Fernandez otherwise neutralized their offense. Guyer continues to produce at nearly every turn, with the homer marking the second time in the last four games he's gone deep. It was his fifth gopher ball of May as well, and he's now slashing .312/.393/.610 over 77 at-bats during the month.

Guyer went 3-for-5, scored three times and hit a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer has been extremely productive at the top of the lineup for the Rays and has been rewarded with 19 runs scored in just 117 plate appearances, a pace of 105 runs per 650 trips to the plate (a modest full-season total for a leadoff man). On top of his brilliant .410 on-base percentage, his surprising power -- Guyer slugged just .413 and hit eight home runs in 385 plate appearances last year -- is just gravy for the Rays.

Guyer went 2-for-5 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Tigers.
EDGE Analysis
Kevin Kiermaier's hand injury is a tough blow for the Rays, but it likely ensures that Guyer will remain a fixture in the starting lineup. While his 1:15 BB:K in 62 May at-bats suggests some regression is coming, Guyer's .306/.371/.565 slash line on the month is still very impressive.

Guyer went 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the A's.
EDGE Analysis
He was in line to be the hero for the Rays until Danny Valencia did him one better, launching his third home run of the day in the top of the ninth inning to give Oakland the victory. Guyer's now started six games in a row and already has more at-bats in May than he did in all of April, and as long as he stays hot at the plate Rays manager Kevin Cash will continue penciling his name into the lineup.

Guyer will start in right field and bat leadoff Sunday against the Athletics, freelance Tampa Bay writer Roger Mooney reports.
EDGE Analysis
It appears the Rays are phasing the struggling Desmond Jennings out of the lineup in favor of Guyer, who will be making his sixth straight start. Though he's largely been a platoon player during his time with the Rays, Guyer has now picked up starts against two left-handers during this six-game stretch. His batting average is up to .328 on the season, and it looks like he'll settle in as the Rays' regular leadoff option now that Logan Forsythe (shoulder) is on the DL.

Guyer went 3-for-5 with a double and was hit by a pitch in Wednesday extra-innings loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
Mike Montgomery hit Guyer with a pitch in the seventh, helping him raise his OBP to .472 (second-best among players with 20-plus at-bats). The Rays' outfielder has now been hit by a league-leading 11 pitches. He has more HBP than 16 teams. As unusual as it may seem, there is certainly a skill associated with wearing a pitch, and Guyer seems to have mastered that. Getting beaned is worth points in most leagues, not to mention it gives the 30-year-old a chance to score more runs.

Guyer is not in the lineup Saturday against the Angels, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer will receive the day off as the Rays go with an outfield alignment of Desmond Jennings in left, Kevin Kiermaier in center and Steven Souza in right.

Guyer went 2-for-4 with a homer and two runs against the Dodgers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
That's his second straight two-hit game, lifting the 30-year-old's average to .333 in limited action (45 at-bats). He's hit both lefties and righties, and with Desmond Jennings and Corey Dickerson struggling (not to mention Steven Souza leaving with a minor injury Wednesday), Guyer could find pretty consistent time in the Rays' outfield in the near future.
