Guyer will start in left field and bat third in the order for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's Guyer's third start of the season, with all three coming against left-handed starters. Guyer should be a mainstay in the lineup all season against southpaws, and he'll often warrant intrigue in DFS contests, especially when he occupies a prime spot in the lineup like he will Sunday. He'll be nestled in between Francisco Lindor and Edwin Encarnacion, which should be fertile ground for him to either score or drive in runs.

Guyer went 1-for-3 and scored a run in his season debut on Tuesday against Texas.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer manned right field and singled in his first at-bat of the campaign. He struck out in his next two triples to the plate, and was subbed out later in what would have been his fourth at-bat. With Lonnie Chisenhall (shoulder) on the 10-day DL, space has cleared for Guyer to get a bit more action during the first week or so (Chisenhall is eligible to return this weekend). Even once the outfield is fully healthy, there should be ample opportunities for Guyer to earn at-bats considering he can adequately defend all three spots in the outfield.

Guyer is in the lineup for Tuesday's bout with the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer is excellent against left-handed pitching (1.013 OPS vs. lefties last season), and with southpaw Martin Perez manning the slab for Texas on Tuesday, the 31-year-old will get the chance to log his first start of the season. Guyer is expected to share playing time with Abraham Almonte until Lonnie Chisenhall (shoulder) is back to 100 percent, although Guyer could maintain his hold on a platoon role if he succeeds in the role early on.

Guyer (illness) is back in the lineup Monday leading off and serving as DH.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer hasn't played much this spring due to multiple issues holding him back, but it finally appears the 31-year-old is healthy and ready to claim his spot in the outfield. He is currently battling it out for an everyday role in the Indians' outfield, and he's in line to start Opening Day in left field with Michael Brantley more than likely sidelined for the start of the season.

Guyer was scratched from Saturday's Cactus League lineup with flu-like symptoms, Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Abraham Almonte got the start in left field instead. Guyer has only appeared in three games this spring as he competes for an everyday role in the Indians' outfield. Consider him day-to-day going forward.

Guyer dealt with a hamstring issue last week but is back to being a full participant in workouts and should get into games by the weekend, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.
EDGE Analysis
He will open the year on the short side of a right field platoon, but has the versatility to see action in all three outfield spots, particularly when a left-hander is on the mound for the opposition. Guyer has a career .288/390/.469 slash line against lefties but has slashed just .236/.308/.338 against same-handed pitching.

Guyer, who is slated to open the season in a right-field platoon with Lonnie Chisenhall, will take reps in center and left field this spring, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer's best chance to start on Opening Day is actually in left field, and that would only happen if Michael Brantley (shoulder) isn't ready to go. Outside of that, Guyer will compete with Chisenhall, Tyler Naquin and Abraham Almonte for playing time, the latter two of which will start the season in a center-field platoon. None of the Indians' outfielders are locked into full-time role at this point, meaning Guyer will have more than a fair chance to surpass his career high of 332 at-bats (with Tampa Bay in 2015) if he can separate himself from the field.

Guyer and the Indians agreed to a two-year extension Wednesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The contract reportedly also includes a team option for the 2019 season. Guyer appeared in 38 games for the Indians after coming over from Tampa Bay in August and hit .333 with 14 RBI and two home runs across 96 plate appearances. In the postseason, Guyer notched six hits in 18 at-bats, to go with four walks and three RBI. Expect Guyer to platoon with Lonnie Chisenhall in right field this season, seeing the bulk of his at-bats against lefties. Guyer is a career .289 hitter versus southpaws, compared to just .236 against right-handers.

Guyer hit a solo home run in a 1-for-2 game Tuesday night against the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer hadn't homered in his past 21 games, although he managed to keep himself useful with a .345 OBP (fueled, remarkably, by five hit-by-pitches). His nine home runs marks a career high, as he needed 128 games to hit eight home runs last season with the Rays. Guyer has hit 52 doubles compared to 20 home runs over the past three seasons, and we should expect his power to mostly come in the form of doubles in the future.

Guyer is out of the lineup for the second straight game Sunday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Guyer will rest for the second day in a row in favor of Abraham ALmonte in left field, but no word of an injury has surfaced. Prior to Saturday's absence from the lineup, he had started five games in a row, going 5-for-14 at the plate over that span. As long as he's healthy, Guyer should return to action during the upcoming three-game series against the As.
