Blake Hawksworth (elbow) is not expected to be ready for major league action until mid-May.
Hawksworth underwent surgery this offseason to remove a bone spur and scar tissue fro his throwing elbow, then needed another procedure a few weeks later to clear out an infection. He will stay back in Arizona for extended spring training when the rest of the Dodgers head north.

Blake Hawksworth (elbow) has been ruled out for the start of the 2012 regular season.
Hawksworth recently underwent a cleanup procedure on his elbow and is a couple of weeks behind the other pitchers in Dodgers camp. He'll aim to return by late April.

Blake Hawksworth had his elbow surgery Wednesday.
The procedure, which was designed to clean up scar tissue and a bone spur in the right-hander's throwing elbow, was deemed a success. Hawksworth will begin rehabbing on Monday and should resume throwing in a month. He might not be ready by the start of the regular season but shouldn't miss more than a few weeks.

Blake Hawksworth will undergo arthroscopic surgery Wednesday to clean up scar tissue and a bone spur in his right elbow.
Tony Jackson of ESPN Los Angeles reports that he'll need 4-6 weeks to recover. Hawksworth, who turns 29 in March, posted a 4.08 ERA and a 43/17 K/BB ratio over 53 innings with the Dodgers last season.
