Paulsen hit a single and triple and drove in two runs in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Pirates.
EDGE Analysis
Justin Morneau (neck/concussion) recently began a rehab assignment at Double-A New Britain and is scheduled to return from the 60-day DL in the near future, but Paulsen has made a compelling case for continued regular at-bats, whether those come at first base or in left field. He's sitting on a .331 on-base percentage and has collected 31 extra-base hits on the season, all while not displaying the overly dramatic home/road splits typical of most Rockies hitters.

Paulsen is not in Friday's lineup against the Pirates, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paulsen won't play Friday due to the left-handed Francisco Liriano toeing the rubber for the Pirates. He'll cede the start to Matt McBride, but should continue to see most of the time at first base.

Paulsen is out of the lineup Friday against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Paulsen had found himself in the lineup in the Rockies' previous four games, though the fact that the team had the DH spot available for the three of the contests might have had something to do with it. It appeared that Paulsen had a handle on the larger share of platoon duties at first base with Wilin Rosario, but the lefty-hitting Paulsen will find himself on the bench even though the matchup against righty Chase Anderson would seem to favor him. Don't interpret it just yet as a sign that Rosario has emerged as manager Walt Weiss' preferred option, as the situation has been rather fluid throughout the duration of Justin Morneau's absence due to a neck injury.

Paulsen remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants.
The Rockies will shelter Paulsen from ace lefty Madison Bumgarner, opting instead to go with right-handed heavy lineup. Wilin Rosario will take over at first base for the second straight game while Paulsen heads to the bench.

Paulsen is out of Saturday's lineup against the Giants.
Paulsen will sit in favor of Wilin Rosario on Saturday after picking up three hits in five at-bats Friday and knocking home two baserunners. He continues to serve as the everyday first baseman, however, and will likely rejoin the lineup Sunday.

Paulsen went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI in Friday's win over the Giants.
As he showed Friday, Paulsen isn't a mere byproduct of playing in the thin air of Colorado, as he sprayed the ball all over AT&T Park, one of the more challenging hitting environments in the majors. Paulsen is slashing .296/.367/.549 at Coors Field versus a comparable .289/.325/.500 on the road, which should continue to earn him a lineup spot until the duo of Justin Morneau (concussion) and Corey Dickerson (foot) return from the DL.

Paulsen is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
With the Astros trotting out another southpaw in Brett Oberholtzer, Paulsen will head to the bench in favor of Wilin Rosario for the second time in the series. Reports out of Colorado suggest Justin Morneau (concussion) has made limited progress, so it seems Paulsen and Rosario will continue to platoon at first base for the foreseeable future.

Paulsen is out of the lineup against the Astros on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Paulsen has been splitting time at first base with Wilson Rosario during the continued absence of Justin Morneau (concussion) and Rosario has been placed in the starting lineup for Monday. However, Paulsen is available to pinch hit off the bench.

Paulsen entered Wednesday's game in place of the injured Brandon Barnes (ankle) and hit a two-run homer in his lone at-bat.
The long ball off Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez represented all the Rockies' offense on a quiet day at Coors Field. Paulsen's been seeing sporadic playing time lately despite the fact that his bat really hasn't slowed down -- he still owns a ridiculous .333/.389/.667 line in just 66 at-bats. If Barnes' injury lingers, Paulsen could see a boost in playing time.

Paulsen is out of the lineup Wednesday, the Denver Post's Nick Groke reports.
Paulsen and Wilin Rosario continue to split time at first base with Justin Morneau (concussion) out, and the latter will get the start Wednesday.
