Ober (4-1) earned the win after he pitched 6.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out 10 batters in Sunday's 5-1 victory over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Ober was nearly perfect Sunday, allowing just a single to Vladimir Guerrero in the bottom of the fourth inning, while his 10 punchouts were a season high. The right-hander has now recorded four quality starts over eight outings this season. Since allowing eight runs against the Royals in his season debut, Ober has produced a 2.16 ERA with 44 strikeouts over 41.2 innings in his last seven starts. He'll look to keep it going when he returns to the mound for his next projected start Saturday in Cleveland.

Ober didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three hits and one walk over five innings against the Mariners. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Although Ober wasn't credited with the win, he allowed three or fewer hits for the fifth time in his last six appearances. Both runs against him came in the second, when Mitch Haniger swatted a leadoff homer and Luis Urias scored from first on a Dylan Moore double. After a hideous eight-run, 1.1-inning start to kick off the regular season, Ober has been outstanding, with a 2.55 ERA and a 34:7 K:BB across 35.1 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to close out a two-start week Sunday at Toronto.

Ober (3-1) earned the win Wednesday over the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three over six innings.
EDGE Analysis
After allowing two runs in the opening frame, Ober settled in to hold Chicago to just two more runs over his final five innings en route to a third consecutive winning decision. The four runs were the most Ober's allowed since he was tagged for eight runs in his first start of the year against Kansas City -- he'd held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his subsequent four outings. Overall, the 28-year-old right-hander sports a 4.55 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings this season. Ober's currently slated for a home matchup with the Mariners in his next turn.

Ober (2-1) allowed two runs on three this and three walks over 7.1 innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Ober fired five shutout frames before the Angels broke through with a run in the sixth inning. After he was throttled for eight runs in his season debut, the 28-year-old righty has given up just four runs over his last four starts, dropping his ERA down to 4.21 through 25.2 innings. He's also posted an impressive 24:6 K:BB through 24.1 frames over his last four outings. Ober is currently in line for a road matchup with the White Sox next week, where he has a good chance to continue riding this momentum.

Ober (1-1) earned the win over the Tigers on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Ober was efficient in turning in his second consecutive quality start, needing only 82 pitches to complete six innings. The right-hander got 14 swings and misses and was rewarded with his first win of the season. Since his disastrous, eight-run blowup against the Royals in his 2024 debut, Ober has allowed just two earned runs over 17 innings in his last three starts, with a 16:3 K:BB in that span. He tentatively lines up for a home matchup against the White Sox next week.

Ober pitched six scoreless innings, allowing three hits while striking out three batters in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Ober was in full command Sunday, throwing 58 of his 84 total pitches for strikes while limiting Detroit to two doubles and a single. The right-hander has now combined to pitch 11 innings of one-run ball over his last two starts after allowing nine runs (eight earned) in his first start of the season against the Royals on March 31. Ober will look to build off of the momentum of his last two outings in his next start, which is projected to be Saturday at home against the Tigers.

Ober did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over five innings against the Dodgers. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Ober bounced back nicely after a terrible first start at Kansas City where he gave up eight runs in 1.1 innings. It was an especially impressive outing considering the opposing lineup. He next lines up to start Saturday at Detroit.

Ober and the Twins won't face the Guardians on Sunday due to inclement weather in Minnesota, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The two teams will make up the game as part of a split doubleheader Aug. 9. As a result of the postponement, Minnesota is likely to push all five members of its rotation back a day in the schedule, so Ober's next start is expected to come Monday versus the Dodgers at Target Field.

Ober (0-1) picked up the loss after he pitched 1.1 innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out a batter, in Sunday's 11-0 defeat against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Ober was off his game Sunday, allowing three homers to Kansas City, including a three-run shot by Salvador Perez in the first inning. The right-hander allowed two more homers to open the second frame, failing to make it out of the inning. Ober will try to hit the reset button before returning to the mound for his next projected start Sunday versus the Guardians.

Ober gave up one run with seven strikeouts and no walks over three innings in Saturday's spring training loss to Philadelphia. He reached a carer-high 94.8 mph with his fastball, and Ober said he hopes to gain more velocity from offseason workouts, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober, however, also reached 94 mph with his fastball last spring, according to the report, but averaged just 91.4 mph on his fastball during the regular season. Still, his outing Saturday shows he's nearly in mid-season form. While Ober may not have an overpowering fastball, it's offset by his outstanding control (5% BB%) and above average off-speed pitches (slider, curve ball, change-up). He's set to be a vital part of Minnesota's rotation.
