Ober took a no-decision Wednesday against the Athletics, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk in 5.2 innings. He struck out seven.
EDGE Analysis
Ober turned in his fourth consecutive start of at least five innings since coming off the injured list, and he induced a strong 18 whiffs en route to tying a season high in punchouts. The right-hander had a dismal June, posting a 9.00 ERA across five starts in the month, but he's at least managed to log a more encouraging 4.09 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 19:3 K:BB over his first four outings of August after missing over a month of action due to a left hip impingement. That said, Ober could have his work cut out in Toronto against the first-place Blue Jays his next time out.

Ober allowed three runs on four hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Tigers on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Ober allowed a two-run home run to Riley Greene in the fourth inning and an RBI single to Colt Keith in the sixth. While Ober was stingy with baserunners, the Tigers were able to take advantage of his few mistakes. He's given up eight runs over 16.1 innings across three starts since returning from a left hip impingement. Overall, he's posted a 5.15 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 86:24 K:BB through 108.1 innings across 20 starts this season. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Athletics.

Ober (4-7) took the loss against the Royals on Saturday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out four across six innings.
EDGE Analysis
Ober started his outing strongly by retiring the first seven batters he faced, and despite minimizing the Royals' offense to a Maikel Garcia RBI double in the third , there wasn't enough run support from the Twins batters to avoid the loss. It was Ober's seventh quality start of the season and first since returning from a left hip impingement Aug. 2. Ober is in line to make his next start at home against the Tigers next week.

Ober (hip) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision Saturday versus the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Ober missed a month due to a left hip impingement. He had only stretched back out to 65 pitches during his rehab assignment, but he was able to throw 91 pitches (62 strikes) Saturday, so he should have no further workload restrictions as long as he feels good between starts. The next goal for the right-hander will be putting a strong finish on what's been a difficult campaign -- he's pitched to a 5.38 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 78:23 K:BB through 97 innings across 18 starts. Home runs have been the big issue; after allowing two of them against Cleveland, he's yielded 23 long balls on the year, four off his career-high 27 from 178.2 innings last year. Ober is projected to make his next start at home versus the Royals.

The Twins activated Ober (hip) from the 15-day injured list to start Saturday against the Guardians at Progressive Field.
EDGE Analysis
Ober will rejoin the Minnesota rotation after he had been on the shelf since July 2 due to a left hip impingement. Ober built up to five innings and 65 pitches over the course of two minor-league rehab starts, so he could be operating with a light workload restriction Saturday.

Ober (hip) is likely to make his next start with the Twins sometime this week, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander made his second rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday and allowed one run across five innings, setting him up to rejoin Minnesota's rotation. Ober has been sidelined nearly a month due to a hip impingement and could have some minor workload limitations in his first outing back in the majors. The 30-year-old struggled in his last five starts before landing on the shelf with a 9.00 ERA and 14 homers allowed over 30 innings.

Ober (hip) will make another rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober went four scoreless innings while striking out three in his first rehab outing with St. Paul last week. He got his pitch count up to 50 in that start and will get stretched out a bit more Friday. If things go well for Ober on Friday, he seems likely to rejoin the Twins' rotation next week. The big right-hander has been out for all of July with a left hip impingement.

Ober (hip) struck out three over four scoreless frames in his first rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Ober got his pitch count up to 50 in the outing, with 43 of those offerings going for strikes. Per Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Ober averaged 90.4 mph with his four-seamer, which is a bit below his season average. While it's possible Ober rejoins the Twins' rotation this week, the club might elect to give him one more rehab start to continue building up his pitch count. Ober has been out for all of July with a left hip impingement.

Ober (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober landed on the 15-day injured list at the beginning of July with a left hip impingement. He was never shut down from throwing while on the IL, so the big right-hander might require just the one rehab start before rejoining the Twins' rotation next week. Ober holds a disappointing 5.28 ERA in 17 starts for the Twins this season.

Ober (hip) has been able to throw multiple bullpen sessions since landing on the injured list July 2, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober was never shut down from throwing following his placement on the IL, and he quickly advanced to throwing off a mound once the anti-inflammatory medicine he received took full effect. Though he'll be eligible to return from the IL coming out of the All-Star break, it's not clear if Ober will be ready to go for the first turn through the Minnesota rotation. The Twins may want Ober to first face hitters and/or complete a minor-league rehab start prior to activating him.
