Ober (hip) struck out three over four scoreless frames in his first rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Ober got his pitch count up to 50 in the outing, with 43 of those offerings going for strikes. Per Dan Hayes of The Athletic, Ober averaged 90.4 mph with his four-seamer, which is a bit below his season average. While it's possible Ober rejoins the Twins' rotation this week, the club might elect to give him one more rehab start to continue building up his pitch count. Ober has been out for all of July with a left hip impingement.

Ober (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober landed on the 15-day injured list at the beginning of July with a left hip impingement. He was never shut down from throwing while on the IL, so the big right-hander might require just the one rehab start before rejoining the Twins' rotation next week. Ober holds a disappointing 5.28 ERA in 17 starts for the Twins this season.

Ober (hip) has been able to throw multiple bullpen sessions since landing on the injured list July 2, MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ober was never shut down from throwing following his placement on the IL, and he quickly advanced to throwing off a mound once the anti-inflammatory medicine he received took full effect. Though he'll be eligible to return from the IL coming out of the All-Star break, it's not clear if Ober will be ready to go for the first turn through the Minnesota rotation. The Twins may want Ober to first face hitters and/or complete a minor-league rehab start prior to activating him.

Ober continues to throw while on the injured list and has received medicine to eliminate inflammation in his injured left hip, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since Ober wasn't shut down from throwing, he has a better chance to return from the injured list when first eligible right after the All-Star break. Once the swelling is gone from his hip, he'll increase his throwing activity and a clearer timetable for his return will come into focus.

The Twins placed Ober on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left hip impingement, Phil Miller of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear how long Ober's hip has been bothering him, but the big right-hander has been tagged for seven runs in each of his last two starts and in three of his past four outings to push his ERA on the season up to 5.28. He will be eligible for activation at the start of the second half, but it's uncertain when Ober might be ready to rejoin the Minnesota rotation.

Ober (4-6) took the loss Saturday, coughing up seven runs on 11 hits -- including four home runs -- and a walk over 5.2 innings as the Twins were downed 10-5 by the Tigers. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit put at least one run on the board in seven straight trips to the plate beginning in the second inning, and Ober served up long balls in four straight frames starting in the third, getting taken deep by Kerry Carpenter, Gleyber Torres, Riley Greene and Zach McKinstry. The right-hander has had trouble keeping the ball in the yard in the past, but not to this extent, and over his last six starts Ober has surrendered an incredible 15 home runs in only 34 innings, leading to an 8.47 ERA over that span. He'll try to snap a 10-start winless streak in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Rays.

Ober (4-5) took the loss in Monday's game against Seattle, allowing seven runs on seven hits and no walks over seven innings with seven strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
Ober's ugly June continues, as he's now allowed four or more earned runs in each of his four outings this month. Across 24.1 June innings, he's pitched to a horrid 8.51 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB while yielding 10 long balls, including three in this performance against the Mariners. The Minnesota right-hander began the month with a respectable 3.48 ERA but now sports a 4.90 mark through 86.1 total frames. Assuming he continues to stick in the rotation, Ober currently lines up to make his next start at Detroit this weekend.

Ober (4-4) was saddled with the loss Wednesday against Cincinnati, giving up four runs on nine hits and no walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Wednesday's first pitch was delayed by rain for about two hours, and Ober was not at his best during a truncated game that was called in the sixth inning following another delay. The right-hander did generate 10 whiffs, but it was discouragingly his third consecutive start where he yielded at least four runs. Ober owns a 4.54 ERA and 1.40 WHIP for the season, and his next start lines up as a home outing versus the Mariners.

Ober (4-3) took the loss Thursday against the Rangers, allowing seven runs on six hits and six walks across 4.2 innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
It was a rough day for Ober, who gave up season highs in both walks and home runs (four) in a lopsided defeat. The long ball has hurt Ober of late -- he's now given up seven homers across 15.2 innings in his last three starts. His ERA is up to 4.40 with a 1.38 WHIP and 57:21 K:BB across 14 starts (73.2 innings) this season. Ober will look to get back on track in his next outing, tentatively lined up for next week in Cincinnati.

Ober (4-2) took the loss against Toronto on Friday, allowing five runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four across seven innings.
EDGE Analysis
Ober looked to be in control after breezing through the first three frames. However, he gave up two runs in each of the next two frames -- including a two-run home run to Addison Barger in the third -- before serving up a solo shot to George Springer in the sixth. Ober was efficient with his 87 pitches (64 strikes) and generated 13 whiffs and 23 first-pitch strikes, but he wasn't able to get enough run support to avoid the loss. Ober has a 3.78 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 54:15 K:BB across 69 innings this season, and he is slated to start against the Rangers at home next week.
