Gomber (2-6) took the loss Thursday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over five innings against the Reds. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Each of the four runs Gomber allowed came via the long ball, with Tyler Stephenson tagging him for a three-run dinger in the third, then Santiago Espinal following up with a solo blast in the fourth. It was the fifth time in 10 road starts that Gomber has allowed at least four earned runs in a start. Surprisingly, Gomber has fared much worse on the road despite playing his home games at Coors Field, posting a 5.61 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over 51.1 innings away from home as opposed to marks of 3.54 and 1.18 over 48.1 frames in the high altitude.

Gomber (2-5) picked up the win over the Royals on Saturday, allowing one run on six hits over seven innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Gomber managed to keep Kansas City's offense at bay throughout the contest, with the exception of a solo home run that he surrendered to Vinnie Pasquantino in the top of the sixth. The lefty allowed just two extra-base hits over his seven innings of work and didn't walk a batter for the third consecutive start. He's now gone at least five innings in four straight outings, though he's also given up six or more hits in three straight. Saturday marked the first time since May 22 (a span of six starts) that Gomber didn't surrender multiple runs.

Gomber did not factor into the decision in Monday's 8-7 win over Milwaukee, allowing four runs on nine hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The Colorado southpaw faced only 10 batters over three scoreless innings to open this outing before falling apart in a five-hit, three-run fourth. Gomber has now allowed four or more runs in five consecutive starts, churning out an unpleasant 8.65 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB across 26 innings. Overall, the 30-year-old sports a 4.72 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 59:24 K:BB in 87.2 innings. He is tentatively scheduled to make his next start against the Royals at home.

Gomber (1-5) took the loss Tuesday against Houston, allowing five runs on eight hits and no walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
All five runs against Gomber came in the first inning, when he allowed four consecutive singles to open the frame as part of a six-hit inning that included a pair of stolen bases. However, the 30-year-old settled in after the nightmare first frame, allowing just two baserunners afterward before a Jake Meyers double prompted Colorado to remove Gomber after 89 pitches. Gomber has endured a rough June, yielding at least three runs in all five starts and completing only six innings once. He owns a 9.39 ERA with 15 strikeouts over 23.0 innings during the month. He's tentatively scheduled for a home start against Milwaukee early next week.

Gomber allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Despite the mediocre stat line, Gomber left the game with a lead before Tyler Kinley and Victor Vodnik unraveled in the ninth inning. This was Gomber's fifth straight start without a win, and he's allowed 20 runs over 25.2 innings in that span. The southpaw is at a 4.36 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 52:24 K:BB through 76.1 innings across 14 starts. He's been a little better at home with a 3.57 ERA through six starts at Coors Field compared to a 5.05 mark across his eight road outings, though he's trending in the wrong direction recently after a strong start to the campaign.

Gomber (1-4) took the loss Wednesday against the Twins, allowing eight runs on 11 hits and a walk over three innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins got to Gomber early Wednesday, scoring five times in the first inning before the left-hander was charged with another three runs before recording an out in the fourth. Gomber's now surrendered 15 runs over just 11 innings in his last three starts after working to a 0.67 ERA in his previous four outings. Overall, the 30-year-old left-hander sports a 4.26 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP and 49:22 K:BB across 69.2 innings this year. Gomber will look to right the ship in his next start, though he's currently in line for a tough matchup with the Dodgers at Coors Field.

Gomber did not factor into the decision in Friday's 8-5 loss to St. Louis, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
The former Cardinal Gomber was unsteady out the gate in his first outing at Busch Stadium since Aug. 18, 2022. The Colorado southpaw allowed three runs on four hits in the first inning and never recovered. Despite the four-run evening, Gomber has been surprisingly solid this year and now sports a 3.38 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 47:21 K:BB over 66.2 innings. He is slated to face the Twins on the road in his next start.

Gomber (1-3) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two over three innings, taking the loss versus the Dodgers on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Gomber dealt with general arm soreness earlier in the week, which caused him to have a start skipped. It doesn't appear to be a lingering issue, but he struggled Sunday, allowing home runs to Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman in the first inning. Gomber ended up needing 79 pitches (46 strikes) to get through three frames. He had posted quality start over his last four outings before Sunday's short start. The southpaw is at a 3.06 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 43:20 K:BB over 61.2 innings across 11 starts. Gomber is projected for a road start versus the Cardinals his next time out.

Gomber (arm) will start Sunday's game against the Dodgers, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
General arm soreness caused Gomber to be scratched from his scheduled start Monday versus Cleveland, but he is now set to make his next outing during the weekend coming off plenty of rest. The 30-year-old southpaw has impressed early in the year with a 2.76 ERA and 1.11 WHIP across 58.2 innings through his first 10 starts.

Gomber has been scratched from Monday's start against the Guardians due to general arm soreness, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
While it sounds like Gomber's arm is a little sore, manager Bud Black implied that this has more to do with the team wanting to hold Gomber back for the team's upcoming series against the Dodgers. Black said that it's not an injury for Gomber. Nonetheless, Anthony Molina will start for Colorado on Monday.
