Burns was outrighted off the Dodgers' 40-man roster Friday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burns got into a pair of NLCS games as a replacement for Justin Turner (hamstring), but he wasn't particularly high on the depth chart, appearing in just nine regular-season major-league games. He'll return to his role as organizational depth for now.

EDGE Analysis
Burns appeared in just nine major-league games during the regular season but will join the roster for the NLCS after Justin Turner (hamstring) was ruled out for the postseason. The 31-year-old should serve mainly in a depth role.

He was released by the Dodgers in July but is back with the team and was initially assigned to the Arizona Complex League, although he will likely find a spot at Triple-A in the near future.

The Dodgers released Burns on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Los Angeles placed Burns on outright waivers the same day the team designated him for assignment. Unsurprisingly, none of MLB's other 29 organizations were willing to dedicate a 40-man roster spot to Burns, a 30-year-old journeyman whose nine games with the Dodgers earlier this season marked his first big-league action since 2016. Burns' defensive versatility and strong production over his 165 plate appearances at Triple-A Oklahoma City this season (.841 OPS, 10-for-11 success rate on stolen-base attempts) should at least allow him to catch on elsewhere on a minor-league deal.

Burns was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Tuesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burnes has been at Triple-A Oklahoma City since June 23 and has now lost his spot on the 40-man roster. The 30-year-old should remain at Triple-A if he goes through waivers unclaimed.

Burns was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burns had his contract selected by the Dodgers on June 12 and appeared in nine games, going 3-for-11 with a double, three walks and two runs in 15 plate appearances. Cody Bellinger (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Burns went 1-for-3 with a walk in Saturday's loss to Texas.
EDGE Analysis
Burns reached on an infield single in the second inning for his first career major-league hit. The 30-year-old, whose only previous big-league experience was a 10-game stint with Toronto in 2016, also reached base via walk in the fourth frame. After the game got out of hand late, Burns was called upon to take the mound for the first time in his career. He gave up two runs on three hits while striking out one across one inning.

Burns is starting at second base and batting seventh Saturday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Burns was called up to the Dodgers earlier Saturday and he'll get a chance to start during his first game with the team. The 30-year-old hasn't played in the big leagues since going hitless in seven plate appearances with Toronto in 2016.

Burns' contract was selected by the Dodgers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Burns' only big-league experience came back in 2016, when he went hitless in seven trips to the plate for the Blue Jays. The 30-year-old started this season quite well for Triple-A Oklahoma City, hitting .330/.427/.598 with five homers and seven steals in 30 games. He'll likely fill a bench role during his time with the team. Mitch White was optioned in a corresponding move.

Burns was reassigned to minor-league camp Sunday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Burns was attending camp with Los Angeles as a non-roster invitee, but he was never expected to contend for a big-league roster spot. The 30-year-old hasn't played in the majors since 2016, when he went 0-for-6 with Toronto.
