Stevenson went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Saturday's Grapefruit League opener against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old is the No. 9 prospect for the Nats in Rotowire's rankings, but he earned that spot through his speed, defense and contact ability, not his power. Nonetheless, Stevenson took full advantage of a breeze blowing out to right field at Tradition Field on Saturday to kick off camp with a homer, after hitting only three in 133 games between High-A and Double-A last season. Expect him to return to his slap-hitting ways as the spring progresses, but if this somehow is a harbinger of a power spike, his value as a prospect could rise dramatically.

Stevenson will take part in major league spring training with the Nationals, The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old opened some eyes last season with a big first half at High-A, but Stevenson wasn't able to repeat his performance after a promotion to Double-A Harrisburg, slashing .246/.302/.328 in 256 at-bats. He did steal 39 bases across the two levels in 2016, though, and that speed remains his calling card as a fantasy prospect. If he demonstrates that his unorthodox swing can produce base hits against better caliber pitching, his defense in center field is more than good enough to earn a spot on the big league roster down the road.

Stevenson went 4-for-8 with a walk, two runs scored and four stolen bases between both games of Thursday's doubleheader against Frederick.
EDGE Analysis
The 2015 second round pick now has 20 steals in 29 attempts on the season along with a .323/.374/.438 slash line in 201 at-bats. Stevenson will likely get his first taste of Double-A in the second half, providing the first real challenge as a pro for the 22-year-old. His lack of power still likely means he'll be a bench player in the majors, but if his geared-for-contact swing holds up at higher levels, his speed and defense could make him a worthy successor to Denard Span and Ben Revere in center field for the Nats.
