Claudio worked a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to notch his ninth save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
After blowing a couple of saves earlier in September, Claudio has converted his last two opportunities and seems to have righted the ship. Expect the 25-year-old lefty to remain in the closer role down the stretch as the Rangers try to make a late push into the wild-card picture.

Claudio notched his eighth save of the season in Monday's 5-3 win over the Mariners, tossing a scoreless ninth inning while striking out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
It was Claudio's first save since Aug. 21, with the Rangers' stopper having blown two leads in between to take save chances off the table. Despite the recent hiccups, Claudio doesn't seem to have squandered much job security, though the recent returns of Jake Diekman (abdomen) and Matt Bush (knee) from the disabled list will give manager Jeff Banister some appealing alternatives if the left-hander should suffer a string of blowups late in games.

Claudio (4-2) was the pitcher of record and was charged with a blown save after surrendering two runs on four hits in 1.1 innings in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
With the Rangers clinging to a 1-0 lead in the top of the eighth inning, manager Jeff Banister called upon Claudio for a six-out save, as the skipper has often been willing to do in the second half due to the lefty's prior experience as a long reliever. While Claudio has often thrived in such scenarios this season, he ran into trouble right away Saturday, surrendering a base hit before allowing the lone baserunner he inherited to score the tying run on a sacrifice fly. Claudio stayed in the contest for the ninth inning, putting runners on first and third before getting pulled, ultimately taking the loss when Ricardo Rodriguez allowed both to score. With runs allowed in six of his last 12 appearances, Claudio is beginning to fade a bit as the season winds down, but since he's mostly avoided cataclysmic meltdowns during his run as closer, his job security still appears to be on solid ground.

Claudio picked up the win in relief during the Rangers' 10-9 victory over the Angels on Friday after tossing 1.2 scoreless innings and giving up two hits and a walk.
EDGE Analysis
Claudio entered the contest in the top of the eighth inning with the Rangers clinging to a one-run lead with one out and runners on the corners. Though he retired the next two batters, the Angels' Eric Young Jr. scored the tying run on a sacrifice fly, so Claudio ended up being charged with his third blown save of the season. The lefty was credited with the win after the Rangers scored the decisive run of the bottom of the frame, however, then worked around trouble in the ninth inning to shut the door. With a 1.62 WHIP over his last nine appearances, Claudio is beginning to show some cracks, but until he blows a string of save chances, he's unlikely to be pulled from closing duties.

Claudio gave up a run on three hits over one inning in Thursday's 5-1 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Claudio has seen his effectiveness diminish a bit in his last handful of appearances, but with no blown saves on his ledger since taking over as closer, he looks to be at little risk of losing out on the gig. Fantasy owners trying to make up ground in saves can continue to feel comfortable deploying Claudio in September, but strong ratios shouldn't be expected from him.

Claudio yielded a run on two hits and a walk over 1.1 innings, but claimed his seventh save of the season in Monday's 5-3 win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
While Claudio was charged with a run for the third time in five contests, he was at his best when it mattered most Monday. After Jose Leclerc walked the bases loaded with two outs in the eighth inning and the go-ahead run at the plate, Claudio was called upon to put out the fire and rose to the occasion, coaxing an inning-ending groundout from Jefry Marte. The Angels were able to make things interesting in the ninth with a pair of singles and a walk, but with a three-run cushion, Claudio had plenty of wiggle room. With a 2.38 ERA and 15:1 K:BB over 11.1 innings in August, Claudio hasn't provided any reason for manager Jeff Banister to pull him off closing duties, so he should be on track to see the bulk of the save chances the rest of the way as the Rangers look to chase down a wild-card spot.

Claudio tossed two innings and gave up one run on two hits while striking out three batters to register his seventh save of the season in Thursday's 9-8 win over the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
After retiring the side in the eighth inning, Claudio surrendered a leadoff homer and then a single to kick of the ninth, but settled down thereafter to end the White Sox rally. Claudio has generally shown an ability to keep the ball in the yard -- the home run was first he'd allowed since May 25 -- and has upped his strikeout rate of late, attributes that could allow him to stick as the team's closer the rest of the way, despite his underwhelming repertoire. Since picking up his first save July 14 following Matt Bush's removal from the ninth-inning role, Claudio has registered a 1.86 ERA and 0.88 WHIP over 19.1 innings in his 14 appearances.

Claudio worked around three base hits to turn in a scoreless ninth inning in Monday's 6-2 win over the Tigers. He notched two strikeouts in the 21-pitch frame.
EDGE Analysis
Claudio loaded the bases with two outs and the tying run at the plate, but the southpaw was able to whiff Dixon Machado to end the Detroit threat. The 25-year-old has been stellar with eight strikeouts and only one run allowed over his last four appearances, but the lack of save situations that have come about during that stretch has limited his value to fantasy owners.

Claudio struck out one batter in a clean 13-pitch ninth inning against the Twins to pick up his fifth save of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Claudio allowed two runs on two hits and three walks over 2.2 innings during Monday's loss but has bounced back nicely in his previous two appearances. The 25-year-old currently holds a 2.50 ERA and will need to continue putting together solid performances if he hopes to hold down his ninth-inning role.

Claudio gave up two runs on two hits and three walks over 2.2 innings to take the loss in relief in Monday's 6-4 loss to the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
The outing ended a streak of seven consecutive scoreless appearances for the lefty, but in fairness, he worked deeper than he had in any game since June 6. While he's picked up three of the Rangers' four saves since Matt Bush was ousted from the end-gamer role in late June, Claudio's background as a long reliever along with his lack of strikeout stuff won't result in him being deployed strictly as a traditional three-out closer. Instead, it's likely that manager Jeff Banister will dole out save opportunities to Claudio, Jose Leclerc and perhaps Keone Kela as matchups and game flow dictates, though Banister's usage patterns thus far would seem to favor Claudio the most.
