Wainwright underwent a non-intrusive procedure on his elbow Monday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The procedure involved doctors using a microscopic camera to take pictures of the inside of his right elbow in an attempt to determine the root of his pain. The results aren't known at this point. Wainwright is currently on the 60-day disabled list and isn't eligible to return until mid-July.

Wainwright (elbow) will undergo further examinations this week after being placed on the 60-day DL on Thursday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright's initial MRI came back with inconclusive results so the right-hander will head in for a second look following his re-aggravation of an elbow injury he suffered in late April. Look for an update on his diagnosis and timetable to be revealed sometime this weekend.

Wainwright (elbow) was moved to the 60-day disabled list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright will need an extended period of time to recover after aggravating his elbow injury during Sunday's start against the Padres. It appears as though the right-hander will continue to rest his arm for the next couple weeks before resuming a throwing program. If all goes according to plan, he will be back in the Cardinals' rotation prior to the All-Star break. Expect additional updates on his status throughout the next couple months.

Wainwright (elbow) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
This was expected, as the veteran allowed two earned runs in 2.1 innings while walking six batters in his first start back from the DL on Sunday, and afterwards he revealed that he was unable to execute pitches because he aggravated his elbow injury during one of his final warmup pitches. It's unclear how long he'll be sidelined at this point. In the meantime, Jack Flaherty was recalled from Triple-A Memphis and will enter the rotation in Wainwright's place, starting Tuesday against the Twins.

Wainwright, who gave up two earned runs in 2.1 innings Sunday against the Padres, reaggravated his elbow injury during one of his last warmup pitches, which is why he was unable to execute his pitches, FOX Sports Midwest reports. "I need to pause and get it right," Wainwright said. "If I'm going to be a force down the stretch, I need to get healthy first."
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright basically admitted that he needs to hit the disabled list and allow the team to lean on its talented young pitchers for the foreseeable future. He walked six batters and allowed three hits while striking out three, throwing 79 pitches, only 38 of which went for strikes. Consider him out indefinitely. John Gant, who logged 3.2 innings in relief of Wainwright is the likely candidate to step into the rotation going forward.

Wainwright (elbow) was activated from the 10-day disabled list prior to his Sunday start against the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright is set to return to the mound after missing the past three and a half weeks with elbow inflammation. He'll take on a Padres team that ranks in the bottom quarter of the league in nearly all hitting categories.

Wainwright (elbow) will start Sunday against the Padres, Jim Hayes of FOX Sports Midwest reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright's bullpen session Thursday apparently went according to plan, as he is now officially scheduled to take the mound Sunday. The 36-year-old had a 3.45 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 15.2 innings (three starts) with 12 strikeouts before landing on the disabled list mid-April.

Wainwright (elbow) could start Sunday against the Padres depending on how he feels following Thursday's bullpen session, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatchreports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran tossed what could be his final tuneup bullpen session Thursday before coming off the disabled list. The team is set to reevaluate him Friday, and if everything checks out, Wainwright will be lined up to start the series finale in San Diego. John Gant will be available to start Sunday if Wainwright is ultimately unable to give it a go.

Wainwright (elbow) will throw a bullpen session Thursday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals will decide the next step for Wainwright following Thursday's workout. Although he threw five shutout innings in a rehab start at Double-A Springfield on Monday, the Cardinals may want the 36-year-old to throw in at least one more rehab game before coming off the disabled list.

Wainwright (elbow) threw five innings in a rehab start for Double-A Springfield, allowing no runs on two hits and striking out two batters.
EDGE Analysis
Wainwright was placed on the disabled list with elbow inflammation in late April. Prior to the injury, he had a 3.45 ERA through three starts, but a discouraging 12:8 K:BB and an 81.9 percent left on base rate suggested that some regression is in order. Whether or not he'll need another rehab start or two is not yet clear.
