Adam Lind, who is with his wife while she gives birth, could rejoin the Blue Jays Monday. David Cooper is getting another start at first base in Lind's absence.

Adam Lind has left the Blue Jays to be with his wife, who is giving birth to their first child. It's not clear when he'll return. David Cooper will start at first base Friday against the Rays.

Adam Lind has sat out six of the last 24 games for the Blue Jays since being hit on the right hand by a pitch back on August 20. He's hitting just .216 over that stretch. Lind was in the lineup Friday and went 3-for-5 with three RBI, but it sounds like he'll have to deal with lingering soreness in the hand for the rest of the season and could continue to receive days off. "My hand's about the same, I think they wanted to give me time off," he said.

Adam Lind went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Friday's win over the Yankees. Lind cleared the bases with a double in the fifth while also adding another double and a single on the night. Though the free-swinger's OBP still hovers under .300, he's provided power with 24 longballs.

X-rays on Adam Lind's right wrist have come back negative, and he could return to the lineup as soon as Tuesday. Lind was plunked with a Gio Gonzalez pitch in the first inning of Saturday's game and had to be removed, but it appears he's averted disaster. He took some swings Sunday but still feels some soreness. It sounds like he could be good to go following Monday's off day, though.

Adam Lind left Saturday's game in the third inning after he was hit by a pitch in the hand. Lind was actually hit above the right wrist in the first inning against Gio Gonzalez. He stayed in the game until his next at-bat, where he was lifted for pinch-hitter Mark Teahen. Lind missed time earlier this year with a back injury. Consider him day-to-day for now.
