Loup resumed throwing Thursday after experiencing some forearm tightness but reportedly didn't feel good afterward, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsbet reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's unclear when the tightness in his forearm emerged, but apparently it's affecting him quite a bit at the moment. The Blue Jays are going to assess his arm to determine the next steps, so we should know fairly soon how long Loup will have to stay out of action.

Loup agreed to a one-year, $1.05 million deal with the Blue Jays on Friday, avoiding arbitration, the Toronto Star's Brendan Kennedy reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Loup is an excellent LOOGY, he is at best fourth in the pecking order for saves in the Jays bullpen, so his fantasy value is primarily limited to leagues that award holds. Last year he posted a 4.46 ERA -- by far a career worst -- but his 2.89 xFIP gives hope to the notion that it was a one-year blip.

The Blue Jays recalled Loup from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Loup has not had much success with the big club this year, posting a 5.20 ERA in 48 outings, but the club still wanted to add him and his 216 big league appearances to the roster for the final few weeks of the regular season. He figures to work situationally the rest of the way.

Loup pitched 0.1 innings with a strikeout while giving up a hit in Friday's loss to the Royals.
Loup is in the precarious position of being a lefty who struggles to get lefties out. Against left-handed hitters, he holds a .286 batting average against. His ERA now sits at 4.96 and while he has a strong K:BB ratio of 36 strikeouts to just five walks, he struggles to get through an inning totally unscathed, having last accomplished that feat on June 15.

Loup pitched a perfect eighth inning, striking out one in Tuesday's victory over the Marlins.
Loup has been excellent at home and far from it on the road. With a 1.50 ERA at home in 12 innings and a 8.38 ERA in 9.2 innings on the road, the 27-year-old can be the important piece of the Blue Jays bullpen they desperately need as right now, Brett Cecil and Roberto Osuna are the only reliable options night-in and night-out. Loup's lack of high leverage situations will continue to suppress his already diminished fantasy value.

Loup gave up two hits and one run, walking away with the loss in Saturday's 3-2 defeat to the Twins.
After a four appearance stretch where he allowed just two hits and struck out five while not conceding a run, Loup regressed once again, allowing the game-winning triple to Brian Dozier in the seventh inning on Saturday. His ERA now sits at 5.12 and he has extremely limited fantasy value.

Loup was tagged with the loss, giving up three earned runs without getting a batter out in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Astros.
After four straight appearances without giving up an earned run, Loup couldn't get an out on Thursday. After such a strong start by the Blue Jays bullpen, it has since become the Achilles heel of the team. Loup's ERA jumped from 3.95 to 5.93 after Thursday. The lefty has limited fantasy value as his inconsistency and lack of counting stats makes him an extremely risky play.

Loup gave up one hit across one inning of work in Tuesday's 10-2 victory over the Orioles.
Since giving up his last earned run on April 28, Loup has settled into something of a groove, as Tuesday marked his fourth straight appearance without giving up an earned run. Over that time span, he's pitched 3.2 innings, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out three. Against the Orioles, he only needed seven pitches (all of which were strikes) to get out of the inning. Due to his lack of counting stats, Loup has limited fantasy value unless he starts striking out batters at a much higher rate.

Loup gave up three hits, two earned runs and recorded two strikeouts in 0.2 innings of work in Tuesday's 11-8 victory over the Red Sox.
Loup was pitching for the third day in a row and got touched up as a result of it, giving up an eighth inning home run to Hanley Ramirez. He's proven to be one of the more reliable options out of the Jays' pen, but Tuesday's outing raised his ERA back up to 5.40. He has been striking more batters of out, punching out five in his last three innings after recording only four in his first seven innings of 2015. Loup probably won't figure in to the closer discussion and his inconsistent strikeout totals give him limited fantasy value.

Loup gave up one hit and one unearned run in Tuesday's 13-6 victory over the Orioles.
Loup has had a couple of rough outings this season, notably giving up three earned runs without recording an out on Apr. 8 to the Yankees. He's bounced back considerably from there, sporting a WHIP of 0.39 in his five appearances since then. His low strikeout rate coupled with his unlikelihood of picking up saves gives him limited fantasy value.
