Twins placed OF Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 8, with a right shoulder strain. Hicks hurt the shoulder nearly a week ago and is finally being placed on the DL. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be sidelined, but the ailment likely kept him from getting optioned to Triple-A Rochester. He seems likely to be sent there once healthy.

Aaron Hicks is headed back to Minneapolis for an exam on his sore shoulder. Hicks injured his shoulder on a diving catch Saturday and hasn't played since. He currently has a rough .198/.338/.262 batting line on the season. A retroactive stint on the 15-day disabled list is probably coming.

Aaron Hicks is currently nursing a minor shoulder injury. Hicks tweaked his shoulder while making a diving catch to end Saturday's game. The injury is affecting his throwing, so the Twins are going to take it easy with him. Consider him day-to-day.

The Twins are expected to option Aaron Hicks to Triple-A Rochester soon. Not only is Hicks batting just .190 over 43 games, he also recently scrapped switch-hitting and will only bat right-handed from now on. The Twins would like him to gain some comfortability batting righty versus a right-handed pitcher, and they realize the best way to do that probably isn't in the majors. Sam Fuld (concussion) could return soon, but the Twins are also looking for center field help from outside the organization.

Aaron Hicks is in the starting lineup Saturday for the first time since being scratched Wednesday with lower back stiffness. Hicks pinch-ran Thursday and got three plate appearances off the bench after Danny Santana was hurt last night. Besides the stiff back, the Twins have decided to go slowly with him since he decided to give up switch-hitting. He'll hit right-handed against Masahiro Tanaka today, which should be fun.

Aaron Hicks was used as a pinch-runner in Thursday's game versus the Rangers. Hicks didn't start either of the last two days in part because of back stiffness, but also because the Twins are giving him more time to work as a right-handed hitter before throwing him into games against right-handed pitchers. Danny Santana started in center today.

Aaron Hicks said Monday that he's done switch-hitting. Hicks has been awful from the left side of the plate at the major league level and will bat strictly right-handed going forward. The 24-year-old former first-round pick owns a hideous .191/.280/.314 overall career line. This decision should help improve that somewhat, but he remains a poor fantasy option outside deep AL-only leagues.

Twins activated OF Aaron Hicks from the 7-day concussion disabled list. Hicks spent the minimum amount of time on the DL. The Twins had been considering sending him out on a short rehab assignment, but they've decided to just throw him back into the fire.
