I would like to use "IR" slots in my league, but we have to keep track of our Injured Reserve on paper.
The reason we have to do this is that Flea Flicker allows teams to add players directly to their IR slots.
Now, I have no idea what league this feature might help--I doubt that any reasonable commissioner really likes the idea of teams putting players on IR that have never appeared on their active rosters before. This turns the IR into something that is more like an extra roster spot. The IR should be a place to place players that were previously on your active roster. It should not be a place to put free agents.
This is a serious problem. I hope Flea Flicker will fix it before next year. At the very least, commissioners should be allowed the option of precluding teams from adding players directly to IR slots. Players should be allowed to go on IR only if they have first appeared on the team's active roster.
At the very least, this should be made an option so that at least sensible commissioners who don't allow players to be added directly to IR slots can actually use the IR positions here at Flea Flicker.
As long as it is a option for the commish, I think it is a great idea. I am in many leagues and there are a couple that it is extremely helpful. One we have like 15 active players, 3 bench and 6 IR, so I really used the IR to get a player from a better team who had many injuries and had to let someone go. I still didn't make the playoffs but I did get closer.
