1. The start of the MLB is getting closer, and I still see the same issues—many players remain as free agents, such as Roki Sasaki, who is a starting pitcher tomorrow.
2. It is known that Clay Holmes will be a starter, but the platform still lists him as a reliever, which affects his scoring. Right now, as an internal rule, he is not eligible until he is listed as SP or P.
Position eligibility is determined by a player's past participation and information that our data provider collects. If it's determined that a player's primary position has changed, then that player gains eligibility for the new position but won't lose their original designation.
The criteria for adding position eligibility varies by sport:
NFL
Positions are determined by official rosters during the season and team media guides during the offseason and early preseason. Our data provider makes the final decision on position eligibility. We try not to change eligibility after Week 3 of the preseason unless absolutely necessary.
Eligibility for DE (defensive edge) and DT (interior lineman) in a 3-4 defense is derived from official depth charts:
3-4 outside linebackers are DE
3-4 defensive ends are DT
Why? Edge rushers in a 3-4 defense have stats comparable to defensive ends, not linebackers. And defensive ends in a 3-4 defense have stats comparable to defensive tackles. This makes the scoring more balanced in IDP leagues.
MLB
Position players qualify for new positions:
If they made at least 10 starts at the position the previous season.
Or if they made at least 7 starts at the position this season.
Pitchers qualify for new positions:
If they made at least 3 starts for SP (starting pitcher) eligibility this season.
And if they made at least 8 relief appearances for RP (relief pitcher) eligibility this season.
Preseason eligibility for new pitchers is determined by our data provider and team depth charts.
NBA
Our data provider makes the final decision on eligibility using a player's listed position with the NBA, past performances, depth charts and starting lineups.
While eligibility may update during the preseason, positions will lock 7 days prior to the start of the season.
A mid-season eligibility update will happen at the time of the all-star break. Position eligibility will never be removed, but additional positions may be added if players qualify.
NHL
Our data provider makes the final decision on eligibility using a player's listed position with the NHL, past performances, depth charts and starting lineups.
While eligibility may update during the preseason, positions will lock 7 days prior to the start of the season.
A mid-season eligibility update will happen at the time of the all-star break. Position eligibility will never be removed, but additional positions may be added if players qualify.
Truth be told, I didn't think this topic would generate so much controversy. I apologize to the community; there are people who have been here for a long time. I wasn't aware of the three openings to use him as an SP, but there are leagues where the scoring for RP and SP is different. For example, 1 IP for an SP is 2 points, while for an RP it's 3. Imagine those who asked for Holmes—he will always score above average. Maybe your leagues aren't like that, but mine and many others are, which wouldn't be fair. That's why I asked for that change. Last year, we had to wait for Crochet, Little, Hicks, and even Miller, who took more than the 8 RP outings to get the position. I think if their teams have already announced them as SP or RP, even if it hasn't been made official, there are cases like these where we shouldn't have to wait so long. Maybe not SP, but at least the designation "P," which is more flexible and adjustable.
Since we're on the topic, I’d like some clarification on this:
I would like my league to have permanent rights to use the budget. To achieve this, I enabled an option where each team has a budget, and for player acquisitions, managers must allocate part of this budget to the player. Among the managers, it was agreed that the player's budget would be equivalent to the number of points they scored in their last season.
The issue is that this function only activates at the start of the game and deactivates at 8:00 a.m., at which point the players appear as free agents (add) instead of being claimed. I would like to know if there is an option to keep them on waivers or as permanently claimed throughout the season.
Your feelings and what’s fair are two different things. We all abide by fleaflickers rules for eligibility. You ruined many owners strategies because you have no patience.
Flea flicker is not going to put in a claim system for you. You can use the setting that keeps everyone on weekly waivers. That takes two seconds to figure out. You post in this support forum everyday. It’s tiring seeing your complaints or recommendations. Figure it out dude. Fleaflicker doesn’t care about any of us and clearly doesn’t care about any of its rules or else clay holmes would at least retain RP eligibility. They could plan on using a 2B at catcher but that doesn’t mean he should get eligibility right away.
You are an incessant pest who clearly only cares about getting your way. Please don’t respond to me and if I ever see your name in any of my leagues I will be kicking you out accordingly.
Time for a P-test! Clay Holmes has 3 starts by my count, 4th today. He should be a P!Time for a P-test! Clay Holmes has 3 starts by my count, 4th today. He should be a P!
Yeah, this is kinda crap. Can't get customer service for any real issues, but this they come to life for? Both of the issues raised here aren't even a thing, and could have easily been resolved with minimum effort.
Holmes has no business being a SP per the Owners Manuel. He's an RP until after his 3rd start.
Sasaki wasn't even on the 40 man roster until Monday. Sounds like the problem was with the internal rule and not with how the platform works.

Yeah! Need to get this fixed ASAP!! Should be a P designation!

Hey we got this wrong, he should be subject to the rules outlines here. He'll revert back to RP and have to earn the eligibility.
Sorry about that we messed up!

Appreciate the accountability and follow up. Thanks for getting that corrected.

Holmes should be an RP until he gets 3 starts. Or if they must change it, a P. I have multiple leagues where he was drafted as an RP
