Matteau was in AHL Albany's lineup for Sunday's game against Worcester, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Matteau, who notched one goal in seven games with New Jersey, rejoins Albany -- where he has recorded 23 points in 57 games this season -- for the AHL stretch run, now that the big club's 2014-15 slate is complete.

Matteau scored his first goal of the season and picked up four PIM in Friday's win over Montreal. It was just the fourth game of the season for the 21-year-old, who was recently recalled from AHL Albany. While he's skating on a line with Travis Zajac and Michael Cammalleri, the youngster has just four career NHL points and isn't likely to provide much fantasy value in these final few games. The former first-round pick has produced at the various levels he's played at though, so keep an eye on him in the coming years.

Matteau was recalled from AHL Albany on an emergency basis Saturday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. With both Mike Cammalleri (illness) and Patrik Elias (back spasms) questionable for Saturday's game against the Islanders, Matteau and Reid Boucher were recalled in the event that either or both of the ailing players aren't able to suit up. Matteau, 21, has nine goals and 23 points in 57 games this season for AHL Albany. He hasn't appeared with the parent club since the 2012-13 lockout campaign, when he saw 17 games of action.

Matteau was reassigned to AHL Albany on Friday, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. The Devils are expected to welcome back both Patrik Elias (mumps) and Martin Havlat (illness) back in their lineup Friday against the Canadiens, so Matteau and Mike Sislo will return to the minors to clear up roster spots. Matteau has three points in his 17 games with Albany this season.

Matteau is nursing an upper-body injury, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports. Matteau sustained the injury in a game with AHL Albany last Friday. Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said the team is just playing it safe with Matteau for now, but there's no indication as to when he might be ready to play again. The 20-year-old hasn't seen any NHL action since his 17-game debut in the lockout-shortened 2012-13 season.

Matteau was assigned to AHL Albany on Saturday, Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger reports. The Devils trimmed their roster to 28 players Saturday morning, with Matteau finding himself on the outside looking in. He produced 13 goals and 26 points over 67 games with Albany last season.

Although he didn't end up getting called up during the 2013-14 campaign, Stefan Matteau felt that sticking with the AHL Albany Devils for the entire season was beneficial. "I saw guys getting called up," Matteau said. "Good for them. I thought they deserved it." It was a chance for him to settle down after a rough end to his QMJHL career. He reportedly left Blainville-Boisbrand after he was bench during a playoff contest and was subsequently released. Although he wasn't referring to that incident specifically, Matteau does feel that he's matured since the start of the 2013-14 campaign. He will have a tough time making the Devils' opening game roster given that they have 14 forwards signed to one-way contracts, but he's still worth keeping an eye on during training camp.
